The Capitol Hill GOP Is – As Usual – The Weakest Link
Kurt Schlichter

Too bad Trump can’t be the dictator on Day One that the commies claimed he would be because the Republicans in Congress seem committed to making things much more difficult than they have to be. They need to get on board or get out of the way. We’ve lost one nominee already, and they are showing that familiar wobbliness that they always get about Pete Hegseth and several others. They have announced no clear plans for the first hundred days, and when someone does not tell you the plan, you can assume that there is no plan. Plus, they seem to be going back to their old habits of selecting congressional leadership not based on core attributes like merit, loyalty and lib owning. Trump 2.0 is focused and eager to keep his promises and make America great again. The GOP Congress seems far too focused on business as usual.

This will not do. The old-school GOP types are failing to read the big America-shaped room. There’s a new sheriff in town and you better not leave him to face the bad guys all alone at high noon. An election is coming in just two short years; 2026 should be, if history is any guide, a bloodbath for the president’s party. But it does not have to be. Trump has shown that the old rules do not apply to him. This could be a triumph, but the Republicans in the House and the Senate need to get on board. It’s either the Trump dance or the usual failure Kabuki dance.

I say let’s go with YMCA.

It will be four years of EOs, almost exclusively.  Congress will not get on board, particularly the Senate, being led by a RINO.

GET REAL FOLKS.  THE CLOWNS OF THE SENATE WILL NOT SUPPORT ANYTHING TRUMP WANTS.

If Trump has to use Executive Orders to get things done, the US Senate will become more irrelevance to the American People as an institution.

We need to keep a tally of non-performing Republicans to primary during the next election cycle.

We need to rip the Party away from the Establishment office holder by office holder.  They need to know, and fear, the full wrath of the Republican primary voters.

Trump/MAGA should start compiling a list of House Members and Senators they want to primary, and also identify and develop the challengers.

Establishment Republicans get away with their RINO ways because they feel they are safe in their states.  We need leverage Darwinian Evolution to undo the intransigence of the Establishment and their Donor Class.

The bad practice of not primarying incumbents has led to GOP Establish members becoming political Do-Do birds.
"Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it’s entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." - Alan Simpson, Frontline Video Interview

Once again, TERM LIMITS would guarantee the removal of RINOs after they have served their term in office.

But the list is already a known fact.

Starting with the two biggest idiots in the Senate, Sen Collins from Maine, and Sen Murkowski, from Alaska.  These two dolts have been no votes for anything conservative.  There are others, Sen elect John Curtis, from Utah, and 1 or 2 others that result in the Republicans not having a simple majority.  All these folks need to be targeted for the next primary in their state.

I say that is a tough item to obtain, since they are already termed out every 6 years for Senators and have to withstand the will of the voters.

I think I would approach it more by removing the horrible 17th Amendment so the states can recall them.  That would return us to our Republic form of government which the 17th Amendment significantly diluted.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
