‘Woke Activism’: Battleground State Retracts Progressive Education Policy

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has agreed to retract the Culturally-Relevant and Sustaining Education Program Framework Guidelines (CR-SE) following a legal challenge by the Thomas More Society, a conservative Catholic law firm, MiamiHerald.com is reporting. The Thomas More Society challenged the CR-SE guidelines in April 2023, representing three public-school districts, parents, and students. They argued the policy violated the First Amendment by mandating educators to promote specific ideological beliefs.
