Fears of rising temperatures refuted by CO2 saturation

A study published in the journal Applications in Engineering Science reinforces the claims made by leading scientists in other research that adding carbon dioxide at current levels is likely to contribute little or no to further warming due to the saturation effect.

The study, authored by three faculty members of the Institute of Optoelectronics at the Polish Military Technical University in Krakow, includes a literature review of the effects of anthropogenic increases in atmospheric CO₂ concentration on the Earth's climate, as well as an independent analysis of the radiation absorption of potential carbon dioxide. The study concludes that while the issue needs to be studied further, the best estimate is that atmospheric CO₂ concentrations have already reached a level beyond which additional emissions are virtually unable to absorb solar radiation and contribute to warming.

There is little or no debate about whether there is an atmospheric saturation effect for CO₂ at all. CO₂ absorbs solar radiation in a given frequency band, and when 100 percent of that frequency band is reached, adding more CO₂ does not cause additional warming. The debate revolves around the question of whether this frequency band has been reached or exceeded. According to this research, the answer is a resounding yes.
