Melania Trump will be ‘part-time first lady, full-time mother’ to Barron during second term, plans to split time between homes

Incoming first lady Melania Trump plans to split her time between New York, Florida and DC during President-elect Donald Trump’s second term in office — “so she can be the hands-on mother to Barron that she is,” a source told The Post Wednesday.

“Melania will be the first lady, but only on her terms,” the Mar-a-Lago insider said. “She’ll do the big events. But no ladies’ tea and no — or very few — interviews.”

“She views winning as the main show, and the rest she’ll do as she pleases,” the source continued. “She’s really in the driver’s seat as to her duties at the White House.

“Melania will be a part time first lady — while being a full-time mother and wife.”

Although the Trumps live at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, they still maintain their residence at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, where 18-year-old Barron lives as he enjoys his first year at New York University.

Personally, I'd like to see President Trump use Mara Lago  like President Reagan used his compound at San Clemente

Well, she may soon realize that Barron is getting past the age of needing a hands on mother.  It's his first year at the university; with lots to explore and a whole new world opening up. The family is close but still it's typical of an 18 year old to want to be on his own though I'm sure he's shielded because of who he is.

That was my first thought as well. He may not want Mom around too much. Of course, the kids of today are not like we were.

Even if she didn't go to NYC, he still wouldn't be on his own. He will have the Secret Service with him at all times.
