  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Yep, Maybe holiday weekends don't count, but by my count, the news of her defeat is seven days old. One would think I (and God only knows how many others) might be blissfully free of e-mails from the Harris/Walz campaign. After all, some someones got their collective ass handed to them in the Electoral college, in what seems to any sane person a resounding rejection of their policies (or lack thereof) and even personae. For that matter, the vast majority of states shifted to the right, and that should hammer that concept home.

Some people just don't get a hint.

I spent the whole campaign season teetering on the brink of a G-mail lockdown for having used up my free space, with endless entreaties to buy more room on the drive, racing to delete the spam messages, as many as an average of one per hour, from my account to preserve the 5% of my drive space left. After all, I get regular updates, dozens of those a day, from jobs I may be called out on, and delete all but the latest from them, too, but the extra padding of the Kamala/Walz campaign's ongoing entreaties for money (what else) have had me perilously close to not being able to use the account. I know, I could go back and delete other stuff on the drive, but those are now historical documents, at least for me, and some of those senders have either retired fully, or are simply no longer with us.

Anyway, just to save anyone the trouble of actually opening one of these, I have copied the text...

The election outcome isn’t what we wanted, but I will never give up the fight -- the fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness, and the dignity of all people. Now is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves. This is a time to organize, to mobilize, and to stay engaged. And right now, there are still a number of critical races across the country that are either too close to call, or within the margin of recounts or certain legal challenges.

We must continue to fight to ensure that every vote is counted and every voice is heard in those elections. That is why I am asking you to contribute $50 to the Harris Fight Fund program today.
If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

We must stay engaged for the sake of freedom, justice, and the future that we all know we can build together. The outcomes of these elections may well have an impact on our ability to hold the incoming administration accountable -- so let’s give this everything we’ve got.

Thank you for staying in the fight alongside me.

Kamala

Kamala Harris
Vice President of the United States

With, of course a 'saintly' image of herself.

Below that,

This email was sent to (redacted). Thank you so much for being a supporter. But we don't want to bother you. If you’d like to unsubscribe from all Harris for President emails, you can click here.

Contributions or gifts to Harris Victory Fund are not tax deductible.
We sincerely thank you for your help and support.

And in a box:

Paid for by Harris Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Harris for President, the Democratic National Committee and the State Democratic Parties in these states: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, and WY.

The underlined part is a link that takes the reader to an actblue.com donation page with the following text:

Our fight continues.

With a handful of key Senate and House races still too close to call, we are keeping our organizers and volunteers on the ground in those states to see the election across the finish line.

If you are able, please donate to the Harris Fight Fund today to ensure we have the resources to elect Democrats down the ticket ready to hold Trump accountable.

There is a lengthy list of rules after the suggested donation amounts ($50-$500 or a blank for more) and even a checkbox to make your donation MONTHLY [WTF?]

Now, for the soul who has read this much, palimpsest over that same 'saintly' image of Kamala, at the bottom of the page it states:
Quote
Paid for by ActBlue (actblue.com) and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
Contributions or gifts to ActBlue are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax puposes.

So, aside from the fact that they lost. That votes that are still being counted (allegedly) were cast and the time to cast more ballots is gone, what are they bagging up money from the suckers for?
For that matter, who is getting paid, here?
Is the Harris Victory Fund one of those corporations that fit together like nodes on a spiderweb, or nest like Russian Dolls, to keep people guessing where the money trail goes?

Okay, wait! Reading the fine print, there seems to be an answer.

Quote
The first $41,300/$15,000 from a person/multicandidate committee (“PAC”) will be allocated to the DNC. The next $3,300/$5,000 from a person/PAC will be allocated to Harris for President’s Recount Account. The next $510,000/$255,000 from a person/PAC will be split equally among the Democratic state parties from these states: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, and WY. Any additional funds will be allocated to the DNC, subject to applicable contribution limits.

A contributor may designate their contribution for a particular participant by contacting info@kamalaharris.com. The allocation formula above may change if following it would result in an excessive contribution.

Not that I would even donate a dime to these people, is this a scam to deprive mourning (if not melted down) leftists of their resources?

A fool and their money and all that.

@Smokin Joe

Just out of curiosity:  why are you on the DNC’s mailing lists?

I have absolutely no idea.
It just started this year.
I have never sent them a dime.

While it is amusing to see the anxiety spilling out all over the place by leftists who are so upset that socialism will be less intrusive after this election, I just don't think I could pour over all those entreaties you received without getting nauseated.

Maybe you could send them a request that you would only consider donations if they send you those via postal mail with a stamped envelope?
May clutter the mailbox but at least it causes them to spend more money and you get the added benefit of some tinder material for the woodstove during the upcoming wintry season.

Odd.  I haven’t gotten anything, and I did register as a democrat in NY this year so I could futz with their primaries, and then if I ever got interviewed after an election, use the old “the party left me” line.

9  of 10 items I get in the mail are junk mail, anyway. I don't think they wanted to send anything in print, (too expensive) just process the payments...

Besides, they are generally bilking people who don't cringe at the thought of whipping out the plastic.
