Donald Trump Picks Tom Homan to Oversee Border Security, Deportations

Border hawk Thomas Homan is getting a prize border security job in the new administration, incoming President Donald Trump said in a message via his Truth Social media network.

Homan is an experienced border officer who served as acting chief of the vital Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency in 2017 and 2018. The agency is responsible for finding, arresting, and deporting illegal migrants. Homan strongly supported Trump during the 2024 election.


However, the statement did not say Homan would be nominated to run the Department of Homeland Security or the ICE agency. If nominated and confirmed by the Senate for either job, he would have the funding, personnel, and legal authority to deport many illegal migrants.

Instead, the statement suggests he will serve as a “Border Czar,” and will play an advocacy and coordinating role within the White House staff:

Thomas Homan, who President-elect Donald Trump appointed as "border czar" on Sunday night, has a clear message for any Democratic governors who oppose the planned mass deportation operation.

"If they're not willing to help, then get the hell out of the way because [Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)] is going to do their job," Homan, who was acting ICE director during the first Trump administration, told Fox News Digital in an interview on Friday.

Trump announced on Sunday that Homan will be appointed "border czar" and would be in charge of the borders and "all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their country of origin" in the new administration.

Before that announcement, Fox News asked Homan about comments by Democratic governors who have indicated they will not work with the administration on the mass deportation of illegal immigrants.

Mass. Gov. Maura Healey said last week that "every tool in the tool box has got to be used to protect our citizens, to protect our residents and protect our states and to hold the line on democracy and the rule of law as a basic principle."

"No. Absolutely not," she said last week when asked if state police would help with deportations.

There was an interview with Mr. Homan not long ago, in which the interviewer postulated that deporting some illegals might break up families.

To which Mr. Homan replied, "Easy... deport the entire family".

Mr. Trump picked the right man for the job.

AOC's pilot light blew out many years ago.

No, they turned the gas off on her and then her pilot light went out. NY says that you can't have gas operating objects anymore. She is going to have to switch to electric in NY.
