Former Harris staffer calls on Biden to resign, install Harris as first female president
Commentators have also suggested Harris replace Justice Sotomayor on the Supreme Court

Former communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris, Jamal Simmons, surprised a CNN panel Sunday by suggesting President Biden step down to allow Harris to serve as the first female president.

"Joe Biden’s been a phenomenal president, he’s lived up to so many of the promises he’s made. There’s one promise left that he could fulfill, being a transitional figure," Simmons said on CNN’s "State of the Union." "He could resign the presidency in the next 30 days, make Kamala Harris President of the United States—"

The panel, including host Dana Bash, reacted audibly to the idea.

He continued, "It would absolve her from having to oversee the January 6th transition of her own defeat. And it would make sure, it would dominate the news, at a point where Democrats have to learn, drama and transparency and doing things the public want to see. This is the moment for us to change the entire perspective of how Democrats operate."

It is possible... but we would see some pardon's come flying out real fast beforehand.

Might be nice for Biden to do it in the last few days of his term just to get it out of the liberal's bucket list.... Wonder if she would want to build some library afterwards ?

Maybe as said above for a pardon or three, but otherwise Jill wants to be Queen till 12:01pm Jan 20, 2025.

And do these guys understand that this is why they lost, the position that genetics alone determines your social status, class, and place on the ladder of power?

It’s crazy that there are more people demanding Biden resign so he can make Kamala the first black woman president than there are people demanding Biden resign because he can’t reliably function after sunset and has no business controlling America’s nuclear arsenal. What a world.

My personal opinion - as a woman of color who has had an entire career in a predominantly male-dominated profession, I personally would feel embarrassed to be awarded something just because of my gender and/or color that I didn’t earn fair and square.

Joe will be in hospice care an unable to attend.  Jimmy Carter will attend in his place.
