Fox News' Brooke Singman brought the latest on President-elect Trump's potential Cabinet appointees and how Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. are weighing in on their prospective positions.

Singman says Ben Carson is being weighed to return once again as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and Betsy DeVos could return as Secretary of Education. Mike Pompeo too could return as Defense Secretary.

New faces include North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who could serve as Secretary of the Interior or Energy Secretary. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is in the running for Secretary of State, while Robert F. Kennedy Jr., could serve as Secretary of Agriculture or Health and Human Services.

As he should.

California is at 60% of returns, and has barely started with the stacks of harvested ballots.  Alaska has to determine whether a ranked choice voting tabulation is necessary.  Arizona per tradition is transporting all ballots by oxcart to a blind nun in a cave on Humphries Peak.  Wouldn't it be fantastic if we were forced to wait a month for those states to decide the popular vote winner?

I've heard that Joel Salatin, a prominent Arkansas ag expert (friend of a friend) has been tapped to advise Trump on USDA appointments. He may be the choice for secretary.

Rubio respectfully declined.  As he should.

Trump has been quietly vetting people for months.  He has to fill a LOT of seats, way more than a normal transition.  Only now, Trump has bitter experience to guide him.

Project 2025 has been recruiting people for years.  They wanted to have their team ready to go on Day 1.

Are you and bandbag in a loving relationship or just married?  Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I know a lot needs to be done, but setting a strict standard for federal elections should be near the top of the list. End the 3 week early voting, mail in ballots and eliminate all the machines other than paper ballot tabulators. We all know the reason for the delays. However, if FL. (3rd most populous state) can have a final count on the night of the election every state should be able to.

BTW, where did the missing 15 million votes from 2020 go?
We have a beach head. Now it's time to win the war and save the Republic.

I've been posting about election reform for some time now, so I agree.

But...
You don't go far enough.

The "strict standards" should be imposed on ALL elections, federal, state, municipal, county... from the dog catcher "on up".

Remember "the broken window theory" regarding crime and preventing it?

If you don't clean up the small elections, the corruption will grow upwards.

EDIT:
The Founders' decision to leave elections "to the states" was a great mistake. Of course, from their point in time, it made sense, because they believed that those who governed would continue to think and behave as they did. History has proven otherwise.

Kevin McCarthy says he doesn’t want a Trump administration role ‘even if he asks me’
By
Ross O'Keefe

.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy rejected any interest in President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration.

McCarthy has been out of elected office for nearly a year, after resigning from office at the end of 2023. However, he has remained around political media and maintained his role as a Republican fundraiser.

“I don’t want a role in the administration … even if he asks me,” McCarthy told CBS Mornings when asked about the subject. “I think I’m better to serve him from the outside … I want to help the country [be] successful.”
