US Space Force warns of “mind-boggling” build-up of Chinese capabilities
Russia and China "have developed and demonstrated the ability to conduct war fighting in space."

The chief of the US Space Force has warned that China is putting military capabilities into space at a “mind-boggling” pace, significantly increasing the risk of warfare in orbit.

“The number of different categories of space weapons that [China has] created and ... the speed with which they’re doing it is very threatening,” said General Chance Saltzman, head of space operations at the US military’s recently created force tasked with protecting American interests in space.

Saltzman spoke during a tour of Europe to raise awareness about the potential for conflict in space with powers including China and Russia and the need to cooperate with European allies to improve deterrence capabilities.

“One of the reasons you have a space force in the US now is in recognition of the last 20 years, [Russia and China] have developed and demonstrated the ability to conduct war fighting in space,” he said. The Space Force was established in 2019 by then-president Donald Trump, who is vying for re-election next week.

"Mind-boggling"?  Really?  The Chi-coms have been stealing our technology for 30 years, but, it's been worth it for the cheaper Apple iPhones and Nike sneakers.

China has almost 5 times the US population with less than half the debt than the US.  The Chinese excel at new technology and its likely their Space Force will be superior to the US as well.   :patriot:

The Chinese suck ass at new technology! That's why they steal it and then make shitty copies of things.

They excel at simple manufacturing but anything that demands perfection, precision, and integrity they are utterly incapable of producing.

Even that is built on the back of stolen tech. During the Clinton administration, they suddenly 'developed' the ability to reach orbit, after crashing a rocket where all the proprietary guidance systems were alleged to be missing. (IIRC, it was LORAL and Hughes Aerospace the tech was stolen from)

The Chinese have never had a problem with reverse engineering what they can't just get the design for otherwise. As for them creating new tech, not so much, but with our porous research institutions and even spies throughout Congressional staff and universities, they have not had to work so hard to keep up.

They just unveiled their latest, a supersonic passenger plane very similar to the SR 71.
