Looks like the Republican is leading in two other races; Alaska and CA13.

The Republican is also leading in CA41. So, it looks possible the GOP ends up with 221 seats.

Why oh why??? That's what I thought when I read about Stefanik. Why? This makes absolutely no sense.

RDS will appoint a GOP replacement for Waltz. Hochul won’t for Stefanik.

Pennsylvania Senate Race

With 98.7% reporting:

Dave McCormick - 3,371,062 - 49.0%
Bob Casey - 3,335,940 - 48.5%
John Thomas - 88,460 - 1.3%
Other candidates - 88,148 - 1.3%

The reported 1.3% of the vote remaining calculates to 90,665 votes.  Mathematically, McCormick needs only 27,771 of those votes.  Even if Casey gets all of the remaining 62,884 votes (i.e. 69%) without any going to third party candidates, he still loses.

McCormick's magic number is 3,398,834.  This is the number he needs to hit.  If he reaches this number and still loses, then the Dems added extra ballots to the total.

Back to that 69% number for Casey, there is only one County in all of Pennsylvania where his draw was that high - Philadelphia County.

With 98% of the vote reported in Philadelphia county, here are the numbers:

Casey - 536,962
McCormick - 128,410
Other - 19,357

Extrapolating this out, the final tally for Philadelphia County should be:

Casey - 547,920
McCormick - 131,030
Other - 19,752

This will yield Casey a gain of 8,338, far less than what he needs.  There are twelve other counties where Casey leads, only one where he has over 60%.

If the Dems win this, it will be because they will have cheated or already did cheat.  It will be nearly impossible for Casey to draw 69% of the remaining vote, unless that remaining vote is pre-stacked.

Here's where a few other counties are at.  I am posting them now to have a record of where they were just in case.

Chester
-------------
CASEY - 55.06% (Votes: 178,630)
MCCORMICK - 42.61% (Votes: 138,235)
Other - 7,548

Delaware
-------------
CASEY - 60.30% (Votes: 193,663)
MCCORMICK - 37.40% (Votes: 120,128)
Other - 7,365

Montgomery
-----------------
CASEY - 59.81% (Votes: 305,522)
MCCORMICK - 37.96% (Votes: 193,920)
Other - 11,398

Bucks
---------
CASEY - 49.02% (Votes: 193,485)
MCCORMICK - 48.70% (Votes: 192,254)
Other - 9,005

Allegheny
-------------
CASEY - 59.22% (Votes: 416,358)
MCCORMICK - 38.32% (Votes: 269,449)
Other - 17,304

Tomorrow, we can check these totals again to see if Casey receives a disproportionate percentage of ballots counted that day.

Projected gains for McCormick in a few SE counties:

Carbon - + 270

Schuylkill - + 536

Berks - + 397

Lebanon - + 436

Lancaster - + 899

York - +1,154

York and Lancaster counties combined should provide McCormick with 6,267 votes.  Bucks county, another 3,949.  Erie another 1,316.  Cambria County, 2,853.  These five counties should combine for another 14,385 votes for McCormick which is over half of the 27,771 he needs to secure the win.

RDS will appoint a GOP replacement for Waltz. Hochul won’t for Stefanik.

The Constitution requires that members of the House be replaced only by an election held in the congressional district of the former representative. So, neither Hochul or RDS has the power to appoint a US House Representative ---- both are required to hold a special election.

Both governors are from one of the 36 states who can appoint a temporary US replacement Senator good until the next election.

Ken Calvert Wins, Mike Garcia Loses as Parties Split Races in California

Republicans and Democrats split a pair of close congressional races in California on Monday, with incumbent Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA) defeating Democrat challenger Will Rollins in the 41st district, and incumbent Rep. Mike Garcia (R-CA) losing to Democrat challenger George Whitesides in the 27th.

Cabinet picks so far....   Will give Trump an 8 out of 10.

Sure didn't like seeing Rubio as SoS.  Too many swamp tentacles attached there.

What I'm dying to find out, is where Vivek lands.  He was a bad ass warrior in this race, and did so much behind the scenes improving the Youth vote.

I am hoping Sec. Commerece, but we'll see.

Someone on X has floated the idea of Gov. DeWine appointing Vivek to fill J.D. Vance's Senate seat.  I have no idea how realistic that is.

Kick Casey out of your office!

Casey refuses to concede as Schumer invites McCormick to the Senate

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) invited Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick to freshman Senate orientation after not extending an invitation due to uncounted ballots in the race.

The Associated Press called the race for McCormick last Thursday, but incumbent Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) has refused to concede the race. McCormick was spotted on Capitol Hill on Tuesday morning, arriving to attend freshman orientation.

Agree with you, have yet to see the legal acuity of Marco, say like Ted Cruz possesses.  And what type of managerial skill has he exhibited to manage +100k employees?

We need a Homan type of guy as AG, period.  Border Patrol employees are already raising cheers on that selection of a tough guy they respect.

Little Marco, as Trump is prone to say, just doesn't seem to have it.

This selection harkens back to that Hispanic AG that Bush tried to appoint and failed to do so.
