Sen. Mike Lee warns Democrats would 'Rule America uncontested for 100 years' if they sweep 2024 elections
The senator suggested that Republicans change their party mascot from an elephant to Peanut the squirrel

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, has suggested that if Democrats sweep the 2024 elections, they will control the nation for a century.

He predicted that if Democrats win both chambers of Congress and the White House, they will eliminate the filibuster in the Senate, add justices to the U.S. Supreme Court, grant Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico statehood, and establish federal control over elections, redistricting, and campaigns.

"Day 1: Nuke the filibuster," Lee wrote on X. "Day 2: Pack SCOTUS. Day 3: Make DC & PR states. Day 4: Enact federal takeover of elections/redistricting/campaigns. Days 5 - 36,500: Rule America uncontested for 100 years."

Lee, who has been serving in the Senate since 2011, endorsed former President Donald Trump in January prior to the Iowa GOP presidential caucus, which Trump decisively won.

The senator has been active on X, frequently responding to 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

"In the global struggle between tyranny and democracy, the President of the United States must always be on the side of freedom," Harris tweeted.

"Exactly," Lee responded. "That's why most of us are voting for Trump."

If either party has the White House and both Houses of Congress, the country is screwed.  Radicals on both sides will go balls-to-the-walls on their extremist agendas.

We need divided Government to check the worst impulses of both sides.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
I have said here several times the last many months that if that is what the American people choose, then the price is gonna be steep. Meanwhile I'm out, all attention from here will be put toward self-sufficiency and survival.
The Republic is lost.

OK, I'll bite.

What do you consider an extremist agenda if the GOP wins out?

I view a GOP wipeout.... POTUS/Senate/House as a chance to let Musk gut Fedzilla.  If that makes me radical, so be it.

National abortion ban with no exceptions.
Enforce Comstock Act to prevent birth control and morning-after medication for being sent through mail.
Attempt to criminalize artificial birth control and prophylactic devices.
National book bans.
Nationalist Christian fundamentalist  Federal education curriculum.
Deconstruction of secular Federal Government.

Many of the Fox chicks look like beauty pageant runners-up or over-achieving chain-smoking bar-flies of a certain age.

Thanks for the list, as it gives some insight on what type of paramount concerns some non-conservatives have that may keep them anxious.

First, the GOP supports a Republic form of government.  Not a coincidence that the party's name is Republican Party.
A republic form of government does not support an overly strong central government in issues outside the specific powers outlined in the Constitution and those outside issues are left to the states to enforce, which is the present situation regarding the first and third issue you mention.

The second issue is simply enforcing the present law on the books, isn't it?  What you are really wishing is to do away with certain laws as no one can argue successfully that a law should be disregarded if it is indeed the law.  I also feel we need to do away with certain federal laws, although my list is quite a bit more comprehensive than a single targeted one like you mention.

And I have no idea where those last three are coming from, but it seems you are worried overly by them.

Freedom is tantamount to conservative behavior and 4 and 5 are not exercising freedom. Especially if we do away with a federal Dept of Education as it is unnecessary due to the states already controlling the education systems in the respective states.

As far as the last point, you do know don't you that our Constitution is founded upon a non-secular thesis as it rests upon the  acknowledgement that God supports this country?  Christians created the documents which comprise our laws and it is fundamental that the gift of this country's founding is irrefutably connected to the principles given us by our Creator.

All-in-all, if this is your list that keeps you up at night, then I believe you should feel less anxiety.

My anxiety on the other hand is very high when I consider the myriad options the Dems openly express to undermine and destroy our country's freedoms and institutions, and the list is very long.

As an example, it speaks volumes that the Dems voted unanimously not to pass a non-citizen voting ban in this country, as the entire party is culpable of disregarding fundamental principles of how this country's laws are enacted.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
If the Dems run the place for 100 years, it won't be America. Not the America we knew, but then by the time they are done purging history, no one will know about that unless they find some very old hard copy heretical historical writings that mere possession of which would have them executed.

I dispute that.

The spirit of our Founders will live on in the states which secede and formed their new country.
That spirit of freedom to live the way the Constitution was designed.

There is no doubt in my mind that this can and will happen

Seems every year, my desire for a national divorce increases.  Conservative taxpayers as whole should be at a tipping point as far as allowing ourselves to be fleeced to fund an entitlement state.

Gosh, at this rate you'll be dead before you finally make your decision.
