Hawaii Receives Its First Snowfall Of The 2024-25 Season

Hawaii — While it is regarded for its tropical beauty, Hawaii also has tall peaks. In the wintertime, snowfall occurs on the state’s highest peak, Mauna Kea. Situated 13,803 feet above sea level, the dormant volcano is the tallest peak in Hawaii. Technically, it’s the tallest mountain in the world, with it being more than 33,500 feet tall if you consider its starting point in the Pacific Ocean. Ultimately, this means that skiing and snowboarding are possible in Hawaii.

There has always been snow skiing on Mauna Kea.  Getting up there do do it is a bit of a pain....
