Bill Clinton in Michigan: ‘Economy Was Better’ Under Donald Trump, But You Should Still Vote for Kamala Harris

Alana Mastrangelo 30 Oct 2024

Former President Bill Clinton said the “economy was better” under former President Donald Trump during a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, adding that people should still vote for Harris.

“I don’t think it’s right to say that people have to vote for Donald Trump because the economy was better then,” Clinton said in what rallygoers seemingly perceived as a pro-Trump slip, as the 42nd president’s remark elicited groans from the audience.

I still say, the happiest man in America the night Trump defeated Hillary, was Bill Clinton.

Well, he did balance the budget.
But only with a GOP-controlled House and Senate that rejected much of his reckless spending.

Overall, Clinton greatly increased the deficit during his 8 years in office.

And the the last time Congress passed a real budget and not continuing resolutions was for FY1997, once again, a GOP led Congress.

Well, he did balance the budget.

I think he finally agreed to sign the Republican bill the third time around and HE get's the credit??? Hell no! He was dragged to it kicking and screaming all the way!

Exactly.  Clinton had nothing to do with balancing the budget.  It was the Republican Congress, largely led by Newt that made all that happen.

I was disappointed when Newt left office, because I thought he was one of the few in Congress actually attempting to do something that fell into the conservative category.

The Hammer was one of the most honorable and patriotic reps of my lifetime.  How he got railroaded by a Travis County DA in the day, was one of the biggest Texas political travesties in our history.

"With friends like Kamala's, who needs enemies?"

It is odd that so many prominent people who are supposed to be on her side, are actually lobbing artillery rounds into her camp either unintentionally or deliberately.

I'd say the worst in Texas history was Lyndon Johnson's Senate election in 1948 by the addition of votes in Ballot Box 13 of Jim Wells County by George Parr which put Lyndon over the hump.  In this case, 202 votes were added after the polls closed by names in alphabetical order using the same pen and handwriting.

LBJ was as rotten a politician as any that existed in Washington.  I believe 100% he was directly involved in ordering JFK's assassination.

It's a proven fact that he damaged this country more than anyone since Woodrow Wilson.
