Laws governing domestic use of the U.S. military should be updated to prevent any abuses by a potential second Trump administration, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee said Monday.

While acknowledging that any reforms to the laws would be a heavy lift with Republicans, Chairman Jack Reed, D-R.I., called for changes to the Insurrection Act and Posse Comitatus Act amid GOP presidential nominee former President Donald Trump's stated desire to use the military against "enemies from within" the U.S.
 
"I think that would be seriously considered, particularly if Trump was elected and continued this very, very harsh rhetoric," Reed told reporters on a call in response to a question from Military.com about reforming the Insurrection Act. "Because I would hope many of my colleagues on the other side would consider they have to put in checks and balances that are lacking."

He could!  But only if Congress happened to be too wimp-ass to act in their duty as checks and balances against such things.  I could be wrong, but this seems more like a democrat spreading fear in attempt to swing votes to Kamala.  I'll bet democrats said virtually the same thing about Lincoln, and he didn't turn out too badly. :whistle:

Trump would not destroy the Pentagon.  He would convert it into an exclusive hotel or exlusive golf resort.  Trump would never let such a valuable piece of real estate go undeveloped.

Trump needs to conduct a purge of the Pentagon, getting rid of all senior officers pushing the woke nonsense.  Milley is gone thank God, but he left many to carry on his nonsense.

Same is true for all civilian employees pushing woke crap.  I am sure there are thousands.

And if Trump wants to use folks with military background, he should start by taking a look at those purged by Obama.  I am guessing Obama got rid of them because they were conservatives, most of them.

Well, to be fair, Lincoln did suspend habeas corpus.   And certainly from the point of view of his Democrat contemporaries, he was a complete disaster.  (Let's hope Trump is as disastrous for his contemporary Democrats, though if any states they control secede, I think we should let them go.  I'm looking at you, California.)
