Andrew Montford presents a new estimate of the cost of delivering Net Zero in the UK. Previous estimates have been flawed:

failing to properly consider the effects of weather on supply and demand

using hugely overoptimistic values for the costs of renewables.

The study finds that the cost of Net Zero is likely to run to trillions, and in all cases, the costs far exceed the benefits, namely global warming averted.

Those who set policies based solely on emotion have no use for cost-benefit analyses.  Their emotional needs will always trump cost no matter what.

Perfectly said also for Affirmative Action/DEI/ESG and almost all government programs.
