Mom reveals trick pedophile used to abduct daughter, 9, who'd been taught what to say to strangers

A mother says her nine-year-old daughter was abducted by a stranger even after she taught her exactly what to say if approached by an unknown adult.

Trisha Sena's daughter Charlotte was riding her bike when she was kidnapped from  Moreau State Park in upstate New York last year when a stranger asked her for help getting something out of his truck.

'That is something that we talked about with our kids – that grownups don't ask kids for help. They ask other grownups,' Sena told Fox News.

Charlotte followed her mom's careful instructions, telling the man - later identified as Craig Ross - that he could do it himself or ask another adult.

But Ross persisted, telling Charlotte his hands 'were too big to reach in the back of his truck.'

The kind little girl agreed to help, only for Ross to pounce and throw her into the back of his van.

I do not understand the 'cannot reach in the back of my truck' line.
But still, talk to children. Tell them any time an adult is asking a child for "help" (to find a puppy or whatever), do not go near strangers approaching you. It is not real. They do not need help for anything. Something weird is going on.

I am a grown adult veteran and whenever a stranger stops and starts approaching me or talking to me, even as an adult I am very very careful about that. Children should be ten times more on guard.
