Wait...seems I thought Hogg survived the shooting by not being there...like Timmy survived Iraq.They do have a lot in common.
I did a through Newspapers.com review of Walz' debate claim that his son witnessed a Community Center Shooting. No such event occured.

Albornoz talked about how he came to know Gus Walz through his love of volleyball and post-match tacos.He also talked about how Gus Walz was in the building when the shooting occurred in the parking lot at the Jimmy Lee, which sits on the corner of Marshal Avenue across Lexington from Central High School. Albornoz wrote that Gus “helped keep everyone safe and calm, looking after the kids in the gym with us as I rushed out.” ...
The Red Star Tribune dutifully repeated the story:Not quite "witnessed." I'm also a little skeptical that this boy, with "a non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD and an anxiety disorder," stepped in quite as heroically as described, though.
