... and will continue to add cost with higher energy bills for years to come.  It's an unnecessary structural cost burden on the US economy.

Food products sold in California will no longer have a “sell by” stamp after July 1, 2026, after Gov. Gavin Newsom approved the nation’s first law governing food labeling.

I just saw something on the news about this today. The sell by date is for the retailer. The use by date is for the consumer.

Would Cali's law run afoul of FDA and USDA lableing laws?

Consumers have a right to know how old, fresh, and stale consumable foods are.
