I would not rule it out. President Trump is unpredictable and if he thinks putting US troops into Ukraine as peacekeepers will end the war then that's what he will do. Especially if Russia/Putin object to the idea and make a bunch of threats about it.

I "get" that Zelensky would not trust a country that has invaded his twice in the past 10 years, and has a history of brutality against Ukrainians that stretches back to the conquest by Catherine the Great. But US troops is a NO! for me.

I agree with you.

IMHO, there are 2 ways to ensure pootin won't invade 3 or 4 years from now. First, Ukraine's membership in NATO or second, U.S. peacekeepers stationed in Ukraine.

Perhaps there is a 3rd way to keep pootin from invading again...Ukraine develops their own nuclear arsenal.

When analyzing anything President Trump says, think "Art of the Deal."

Despite losing more than 800,000 troops killed and wounded in the first three years of its wider war on Ukraine, the Russian military has still managed to sustain a front-line force of no fewer than 600,000 troops in Ukraine and western Russia. But that doesn’t mean the Kremlin isn’t struggling to generate fresh troops. At least one desperate Russian command, the 20th Combined Arms Army, has formed assault groups made up of walking wounded—including injured men walking with the aid of crutches—and sent them into battle with predictably tragic results.

There were rumors several months ago that some Russian commanders were ordering wounded men back into action. Perhaps the first clear evidence of the “crutch battalions” appeared on social media last week. The inaction of the US prior to the last two world wars resulted in US involvement in those wars.

Preventing the Russian wars of conquest in Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia from spreading will prevent direct conflict.

But of course if the Russians are bent on war against the US then it would be handy to have bases in Ukraine.

Disabusing the Russians of their imperial ambitions is a national interest for the US especially given their stated intentions to seize Alaska.

This fall I have a son going into the USMC and I can assure you that I do not want to see him fight Russia. I'd rather the war be prevented and we can't prevent WW3 by sticking our heads up our asses and claiming it's none of our business. That didn't work in the last two world wars and it won't work in the next one.

Exactly right. Ukraine takes out every vehicle within a designated area of interest which is near the frontlines.

Had Ukraine not frustrated Putin's plans in 2022, we might currently be talking about his invasion(s) of the Baltic countries, Moldova, or even Poland. Driving back the orcish invaders and gutting Russia's army, tanks, aircraft, and SAM systems have probably precluded such invasions for a decade or even 2 or 3 decades.

Meanwhile, Ukraine Haters still want to believe Zelensky has two yachts on the Black Sea, Zelensky's wife went skiing in St. Moritz, or similarly false Hate-Ukraine nonsense.

Exactly. Russia as a nation state is a parasite and the Soviet military was built by the industry of the people enslaved by the USSR. Russia is incapable of creating prosperity for her own people unless it sucks the blood of other people.

Denying Russia an empire will cause Russia to wither and die. And that's why the Russians are bleeding themselves white in Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin's Russian troops are being accused of a new war crime, as a video has emerged showing an executioner calling on his comrades to film as at least six Ukrainian POWs are cold-bloodedly shot dead.

Kyiv has launched a criminal investigation and reported the barbaric mass killing to the United Nations and Red Cross.

The savage Russian soldiers in the occupied Donetsk region film themselves committing the illegal battlefield massacre.

'This one's mine,' says one of the Russia soldiers after demanding, 'Give me two machine guns'.

The POWs are seen lying face down on the ground as the occupiers decide to kill them.

'Get the camera,' one Russian is heard saying. 'Get the phone, get the phone, get the phone, get the phone, film me.'

The prisoners are told to 'get the f*** over here, one at a time over here, hurry up. One at a time. Over here, on your knees.'

They are ordered: 'Go, go, we'll kill you anyway.'

At least two Russians are seen shooting the kneeling victims from behind. Others were shot as they walked to the murder spot.

This fall I have a son going into the USMC and I can assure you that I do not want to see him fight Russia. I'd rather the war be prevented and we can't prevent WW3 by sticking our heads up our asses and claiming it's none of our business. That didn't work in the last two world wars and it won't work in the next one.
