A dozen women posed together wearing their husbands’ medals in front of a Russian fighter jet.



They thought were making a calendar to boost their husbands’ morale at the request of the Russian Air Force.

Most of them wore high heels and mini skirts.

They were “only too happy to help,” The Times reported.

But they had been tricked Ukrainian activists  .  .

.  .  The 960th Assault Aviation Regiment stands accused of killing some 600 civilians, many of them children, in an airstrike in a theatre in the besieged city of Mariupol in 2022.

InformNapalm launched its ruse by approaching Lillia Astroshchenko, wife of regiment’s commanding officer Colonel Sergey Astroshchenko, 43, pretending to be a colleague.  .  .

In a recent video address, President Zelenskyy appeared wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan “Make Russia Small Again.” But this isn’t just a catchy phrase—it’s a call for historical justice and a reminder of Russia’s centuries-old imperial ambitions.



The T-shirt displays a map of the Grand Duchy of Moscow as it was in 1462, under the rule of Prince Ivan III, who sought to break free from the Golden Horde’s dominance. This era marked the beginning of Muscovy’s expansionist campaigns, during which it claimed lands beyond its borders. In the following years, neighboring principalities such as Yaroslavl, Tver, Ryazan, and Rostov were conquered—the same region that made headlines in August 2024 when Ukrainian forces advanced into it.

Even back then, Moscow employed methods that would become its standard practice for centuries—deportation. After conquering the Novgorod Republic, Moscow forcibly relocated its population to other regions. This move was designed to crush any resistance, as Novgorod had long been independent and a powerful rival to Moscow. By dismantling its center of influence, Moscow eliminated any hope for independence and silenced the potential for protest.

It was Ivan III who first declared himself “Tsar of All Rus,” even though he had never ruled over the lands of Kyivan Rus and merely aspired to conquer them. Over time, his ambitions extended to the northern territories of modern Ukraine—Siveria and Chernihiv regions.

The territory of Tatarstan, where the BRICS summit took place in Kazan in 2024, was conquered in the mid-16th century. These lands have never historically belonged to Russia.  .  .

For three months, a clutch of Russian army motor rifle regiments has been trying to capture the town of Selydove, eight miles southeast of the fortress city of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast.

It’s been a brutal and bloody fight for both sides. And it’s only getting worse as the Russians battle their way toward central Selydove. On October 6, advancing Russian troops overran a position in the town held by the Ukrainian national guard’s Kara Dag Brigade—and captured four guardsmen. The Russians recorded the prisoners under interrogation.

The next day, the Kara Dag Brigade counterattacked and retook the overrun position. There, they discovered the bodies of the four captured guardsmen. “The killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime,” the Ukrainian Office of the Prosecutor General stated.

Russian troops have executed more than 100 Ukrainian prisoners since Russia widened its war on Ukraine 32 months ago, according to Ukrainian authorities. The frequency of the atrocities has increased as Russian losses along the 700-mile front line have spiked to more than 1,000 a day, on average. On Oct. 10, Russian marines captured and then murdered nine Ukrainian drone operators in the Ukrainian salient in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

The killing of the drone operators inspired a merciless Ukrainian counterattack that has inflicted heavy casualties on the Russian unit responsible for the murders, the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade.  .  .

The Russian military occupied the north of Kharkiv oblast on the first day of the full-scale invasion in 2022. For the next half a year, these territories were occupied. During this time, Russians organized a torture facility in the aggregate plant in Vovchansk: they detained and interrogated locals there. Roman and Viktor, school teachers, were among them.

After the deoccupation of Kharkiv’s northern territories in the autumn of 2022, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) documented war crimes the Russian army committed on the plant. Gwara Media contacted investigators to document the evidence of torture on the Vovchansk aggregate plant but didn’t get clearance and permission to film.

Still, our journalist Vika Mankovska talked to Roman and Viktor, physical education teachers from the Kharkiv region, and wrote down their experiences on the Vovchansk aggregate plant under Russian occupation.
