Kamala Harris' record on wanting to ban handguns revealed after she told Oprah Winfrey she would shoot intruders

Vice President Kamala Harris once backed a San Francisco ballot proposition to ban handguns, despite now celebrating her ownership of a gun and her promise to shoot someone if they intruded into her home.

Harris endorsed the 2005 Proposition H that would ban possession of handguns within city limits by San Francisco residents unless they were active law enforcement or military personnel.

It also imposed a ban on the manufacture, distribution, sale and transfer of firearms and ammunition within the city.

The proposition passed that year with a 58 percent majority supporting it.

The measure was expected to take effect in January 2006, with residents ordered to turn in their handguns by April 1, 2006 or face mandatory jail time.

The prospect of Harris in the White house is scary enough,

but 58% supporting a handgun ban is terrifying, because that means there are a LOT of stupid people there (not to mention ignorant of or contemptuous toward a critical Civil Right).
