Gwen Walz’s speech was meant to be a rallying cry, but it quickly turned into an awkward spectacle. As the wife of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who’s currently running as Kamala Harris’ vice-presidential candidate, she aimed to stir up support with what she probably thought was an empowering moment. Instead, it landed like a lead balloon.

At the Human Rights Campaign dinner in Minneapolis, Gwen Walz decided to school the crowd of grown adults on how to address former President Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, using a tone that felt more suited to a kindergarten classroom.

“Repeat after me: Mr. Trump, Mr. Vance, please mind your own business!” she directed, in an exaggerated, teacher-like voice.

Crickets.

Sure, a few in the crowd dutifully repeated her words, but most sat in uncomfortable silence, probably wondering how they’d found themselves being talked to like they were five years old.










After listening to Tim Walz’s wife, I can’t say I blame him for choosing to bang horses over her.

You didn’t think anyone could make Jill or Hillary look better, and this lady comes along. Obnoxious.

Well, each time the prospective VP candidate is someone even worse than the POTUS candidate--so much so they're life insurance for the latter.

There's a lady on one of my projects at work that does this. I commented to a colleague last week that Ann knows her stuff but she's painful to listen to, since she talks like a preschool teacher for 'slow' students. Coincidentally, she is also from Minnesota.

I know lots of folks from Minnesota who are articulate and capabl of carrying on a conversation like a normal adult.

Remember, this is the lady who kept the windows open so she could smell the burning tired during the riots...while her hubby delayed three days before calling in the National Guard.

She ain't wired right. Her mindless repetition shtick is geared toward K-3, not adults.

Oh, I'm right there with you. I have a sibling who lives in Minnesota, and the whole extended family up there are all normal people.  And excessively polite!
