Liz Cheney calls for a third party to replace the Republicans

Liz Cheney is very, very, upset with the Republican Party. She'd like someone else to start another for her.

She's calling for this new party based on all her virtue and principle.

According to the New York Times:

    “Whether it’s organizing a new party — look, it’s hard for me to see how the Republican Party, given what it has done, can make the argument convincingly or credibly that people ought to vote for Republican candidates until it really recognizes what it’s done,” Ms. Cheney said at the Cap Times Idea Fest in Madison, Wis.

    “There is certainly going to be a big shift, I think, in how our politics work,” she continued. “I don’t know exactly what that will look like. I don’t think it will just simply be, well, the Republican Party is going to put up a new slate of candidates and off to the races. I think far too much has happened that’s too damaging.”

Good luck with that, Liz.

It's as bizarre and pathetic a suggestion as any she's ever made. Notice that she wants someone else to do it in her statement, as she can't be bothered to put in the work for such an impossible endeavor.

The Cheney's hatred for Trump is undeniable.  Liz is set out for revenge for losing her seat and her pappy isn't a fan of the former president either.  Both have connections that could cause some trouble for Trump.

I'd love for there to be 3 or more major political parties in the US. If they were viable that would mean that most presidential elections would be decided in the House, which would be neat. GOP and rural leaning states would hold considerable sway, if you think about how state contingencies are decided.

What am I missing here?  The House would decide the elections? IMO IF 3rd party candidates were allowed the same parameters to run as those of the two party system, things would likely be very different.  The two party system is set up to make it nearly impossible for a 3rd party run as they have to meet different qualifications and it is more costly.

With 3 viable major parties, none could ever or very rarely win enough electoral votes to get a majority.

Do not know what happened to her in her life.
Was she shot in the face? I don't know.
Whatever her psychological trauma was, whatever, she has gone batshit crazy.
She is currently targeting anything Trump or Trump related.
But I think if Trump did not exist, she would come up with something else to vent her rage.
She would be screaming about 'war with Putin' or 'war with Israel'. It would just be something else.

I don't think it would be neat at all. Whoever has a majority in the House would rule the rest of the country.

Bush-Cheney-McCain-Romney Neocon-ism is dying an excruciating slow death.  They were bureaucracy loving  infiltrators in the form of a Conservative Trojan Horse.

No, it's whomever has a majority of state contingencies which heavily favors the GOP. Even if Democrats gain a majority of the House, the GOP often still has a majority of state contingencies. Odd quirk of Amendment 12.
