 Kamala Harris uses debunked abortion death story to attack Trump, rally Dems in Georgia

Vice President Kamala Harris cited a debunked report Friday to blame former President Donald Trump for the death of a Georgia woman following a medically induced abortion — despite experts saying doctor error was to blame rather than Peach State restrictions on the procedure.

Harris, 59, spoke at length during an Atlanta rally about the August 2022 death of Amber Nicole Thurman, 28, who suffered a fatal infection after taking abortion pills that did not expel all the fetal tissue from her body.

Left-wing outlet ProPublica published a story detailing Thurman’s case on Monday — headlined “Abortion Bans Have Delayed Emergency Medical Care. In Georgia, Experts Say This Mother’s Death Was Preventable” — triggering outrage among the left.

The Democratic presidential nominee claimed repeatedly Friday that Thurman had died because of Georgia’s so-called “heartbeat law,” which went into effect after the Supreme Court — including three justices nominated by Trump — voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022.

“You see, under the Trump abortion ban, [Thurman’s] doctors could have faced up to a decade in prison for providing Amber the care she needed,” said Harris, who at one point led the crowd in repeating Thurman’s name.

I couldn't make it through more than 40 seconds of the speech   ------   it was too evil.

Amber Thurman Died From The Abortion Pill, Not Pro-Life Laws
ProPublica’s attempt to blur the distinction between D&C for retained tissue and D&C to end the life of the developing baby underscores the media’s smear campaign against pro-life laws.

The Federalist

Democrats and their corporate media allies are so desperate to get rid of pro-life laws that they’ll fabricate stories to wrongly smear them as not only bad for women but deadly.

The latest is ProPublica’s story of a Georgia woman who died after a North Carolina abortionist gave her chemical abortion pills — which, contrary to Democrat narratives, are unsafe. The article, however, pretends the death was caused by Georgia’s pro-life laws. The author of the story repeatedly attempts to conflate a procedure used to treat miscarriages, dilation and curettage (D&C), with elective abortion. ...

Amber Thurman did not die because of Georgia’s abortion law, which was enacted to protect the lives of mothers and preborn children. She died from complications of medical abortion. Perhaps, had the FDA decided not to remove its mandatory requirement for a doctor’s follow-up visit from abortion pill labeling, and had she received more appropriate care, she might have survived.

ProPublica says, “Thurman’s case marks the first time an abortion-related death, officially deemed ‘preventable,’ is coming to public light.”   ...
Kommiela repeating ProPublica's lies like the unthinking drone she is.

Kamala Harris
@KamalaHarris
One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree: The government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.

Dear VP Harris: I hear you make this statement all the time. Exactly what “faith” are you talking about when you say you don’t have to abandon it to support abortion?  Are you talking about the Christian faith that says all babies are made in the image of God (Gen 1:26), that God places them in the womb (Jer 1:5) and that we should not take any life unjustly (Luke 18:20)?  Are you talking about that faith or some nebulous, general “faith” that says we’re good enough, and smart enough to make our own decisions?  What “faith” are you talking about?
