Secret Service Whistleblower Drops Bombshell on Trump Assassination Attempt: ‘Gunman Knew Vulnerabilities’

A Secret Service whistleblower revealed that would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh had inside information on the security vulnerabilities at Donald Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course.

Routh was able to set up a sniper’s nest with a perfect range just roughly 300 yards from Trump.

Senator Josh Hawley wrote in a letter:

“A whistleblower with direct knowledge of Secret Service protection of former President Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach — an individual who has in fact protected President Trump at that very location — alleges that there are ‘known vulnerabilities’ in the fence line surrounding the course: places that offer a clear line of sight to the former president and others playing at the course.”

What kind of surprises me a bit is Trump's praise of his Secret Service. Certainly he must be reading the reports and has to know that something is very, very wrong within his own team of security.

I think the real scandal is that the shooter was apparently alerted to Trump's unscheduled golf outing in time to be in the hide for 12 hours before Trump was anywhere close.

Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley on Wednesday sent a letter to acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe asking him about whistleblower allegations pertaining to the second assassination attempt against former President Trump in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday.

A whistleblower "with direct knowledge of Secret Service protection at former President Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach – an individual who has in fact protected President Trump at that very location" – alleged to Hawley's office earlier this week that "there are ‘known vulnerabilities’ in the fence line surrounding the course," including "places that offer a clear line of sight to the former president and others playing the course."

"As a result, the whistleblower alleges it has been Secret Service protocol to ‘post up’ agents at these vulnerable spots when Trump visits the course. That apparently did not happen on September 15," Hawley wrote in his letter to Rowe. "Instead, the gunman was permitted to remain along or near the fence line for some 12 hours."

Hawley told reporters on Thursday that the whistelblower said it "has been standard Secret Service protocol [that] there are known vulnerabilities at that course."

Yes, there is no such thing as a public personality i.e. person running for president being completely safe from nuts attempting to kill them.
While I think that the SS needs to be reexamined and maybe reformed, if they were in on a conspiracy to kill Trump, the agent who shot at Routh would have just winked at him as he went ahead of Trump's group.
But no candidate is invulnerable as long as they campaign in public rallies outdoors or just playing golf.
The wife and I just find it weird that just about every candidate being shot at since JFK has been a Republican or a conservative. Now they have a nut in Alaska who was caught threatening to assassinate the six conservative SC justices. Mental illness does seem to be far more prevalent on the left side of the political spectrum.

More than that... Just the mechanics of the thing...
I can stuff one in the breadbasket pretty reliably out to about 400 yards. Out to 600 is a probably.... Past that is hit and miss, and I need a spotter to tell me where I am.

But I'm just some dumbass hillbilly out in Timbuck4. Nothin special. I can tell you two hands worth of men that I know are better at it then I, off the top of my head. Mad skilz. And none of that is 'professional class'. That's just decent backwoods hunters.

So if you're talking professionals... where's that? Out to what? How far? I mean some guy with a gun worth tens of thousands and optics worth just as much, with military sniper training, and maybe a spotter with him?

*JUST* clearing a thousand yards all the way around some place... Try doing that in Times Square, not to mention around a mile and a half of golf course... Think of how many lays there are in something like that. It boggles the mind.

Likely they leave access as a honeypot. kinda like I would leave a gap in the fence the coyotes are using to get on the place. I know where they'll be coming in.
