Israel “Forced” To Execute Pager Plan After 2 Hezbollah Terrorists Grew Suspicious

Israel developed the plan to remotely detonate thousands of Hezbollah pagers months ago but was forced to activate the plan on Tuesday after two Hezbollah members grew suspicious, various media outlets reported.

Axios quoted a US official as saying: “It was a use it or lose it moment.”

Israel planned on using the operation as the first blow in an all-out war to try to disable Hezbollah. But when Israel received intelligence that two Hezbollah members had expressed suspicion about the pagers, they decided to execute the plan rather than lose the opportunity altogether.

Israeli officials did not inform the US about the plan, not even telling US envoy Amos Hochstein about it, who was in Israel to discuss the security situation with Hezbollah.

In order not to keep the US completely in the dark, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant called U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin moments before the explosions began and said that Israel was about to carry out an operation in Lebanon. However, he refused to provide any details.

The pagers that blew up bore the trademark of the Taiwanese company Gold Apollo. However, the company stated on Wednesday that the pagers were manufactured by BAC Consulting KFT, based in Budapest, Hungary.  .  .

Try as I might, I just can't work up any sadness for those injured by the explosions (except innocents who were in their presence). The guy picking out produce (the only one I've seen) doesn't evoke in me the tiniest thread of sympathy. Does that make me a bad person?

This is the key fact Israel-Haters like AOC don't want known. The pagers sold to whomever-rando were perfectly functional and safe devices. Only pagers sold to Hez had the explosives in their batteries. Further - and importantly - these pagers were ordered by Hez for Hez business. Hez members who had the pagers would have carried them continually and would not give them to their wives or kids. A non-carrier would have had to be very close to the carrier when the pager went boom for a non-carrier to be significantly injured.

I am still of the conviction that Israel figured out how to make lithium batteries explode on demand. The narrative that explosives were used is not at all being sourced from Israel.

Because all manner of devices with batteries have exploded in Lebanon. Pagers, walkie talkies, solar energy kit, and etc.

Reminds me of the time I was working in Libya 15 years ago. Our seismic shoot happened to be at the same location as one of the great tank battles of WWII, and heavily mined.

We paid a goat herder to graze his goats there, and for every exploded goat, we paid the herder $100.

Now if we can just get Mossad to plant the ordinance in the goats, we can take care of the rest of the world's Islamist terrorists

I just found it a brilliant way to target one's sworn enemies simultaneously, over a wide geographical area, and with a minimum of collateral damage. Not to mention the disruption factor in making anyone involved who didn't get caught up in this incredibly leery of technology. Now, look for the guy who has a small following of people with electronic devices who tell him what the message was. At the vry least, this will be disruptive to their communications, not to mention the effect of rendering so many senior and mid level 'staff' inoperable.

That segment of SCTV was probably the funniest bit they did. I laughed hysterically whenever one of the characters in those segments blew up. Just like I laughed hysterically when I read about the terrorists blowing up ...uh...real good.
