One particular grocery store in NYC has a rising theft problem.  As with all theft in our city, some will excuse it as an act of desperation on the part of someone who is hungry, while others blame it on laws that protect criminals.  Complicating matters is the fact that this particular grocery store is one block from one of the city's largest shelters for asylum seekers...

I thought these people were getting a wad of federal (our) money to support them. They have to steal, too? Sure, some of it is likely locals, too, but this is ridiculous.

They are receiving at least $3,000 per month plus free housing and a smartphone, from what I've read.
And then there's this in NYC: Animal sacrifices are on the rise in Queens as mutilated animals are being found in Howard Beach, New York. Chickens, other birds, pigs, and other animals have had their body parts cut off in these alleged religious rituals. ...
