That would appear to be unprofessional and abusive behavior on the part of the uniformed officers. Total disregard for process, policy and procedure, including self-identification, visual inspection, and offering the detained individual a reason for the traffic stop. Even If Tyreek was observed to have been driving recklessly, and was reasonably believed to be a danger to others - that's not how a police officer is trained to handle the situation.

How far/fast did they pursue him before he stopped. That stuff gets them all buzzed on adrenaline and it takes some serious professionalism to get over being 'froggy' and be calm.

A routine traffic stop involving Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill quickly escalated into a tense situation on Sunday, as newly released body cam footage from the Miami-Dade Police Department reveals. Hill was pulled over just a few hours before the Dolphins’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the encounter quickly turned heated when officers forcibly removed him from his vehicle less than a minute after the stop. Hill was subsequently handcuffed and detained for nearly 20 minutes.

The incident, which has garnered national attention, shows both sides reacting poorly. Hill, clearly frustrated, tried to invoke the racial dynamics of the situation, while the officers responded sternly. At one point, Hill said, “I’m just being a black man, that’s it. I’m just being black in America in a nice car.” The officer immediately responded, “We’re dark too, brother. We’re people of color, too. Don’t play like that’s special.”




So "who" injected race into this? TYREEK!

Wasn’t he going like 60 over the speed limit in a nice car?  Who cares what color you are?  That’s gonna get you pulled over.

Just follow law enforcement's direction and nothing happens.

Tyreek Hill, NFL wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, gets detained by police for a traffic violation, and people are outraged because the officers pulled him out of the car. Yay. I love these.

Here’s my assessment: The body cam footage shows that Hill did NOT obey the commands given by the officers. While I would agree that the officers could have done better police work over the course of the interaction, it is clear that Hill did not plan on cooperating until the officers took control of the situation. Sorry, wokesters, but Hill should have listened to commands. TO AVOID further escalation. He chose not to. Disobeying orders from law enforcement will never go well for you.

I am siding with the police on this one. As a citizen of this country, you should know how to conduct yourself during a traffic stop. Simple. LEOs do a dangerous job on a daily basis to protect citizens and enforce the law. Some of them don’t make it home to their families because they chose to let some bleep disobey their commands and they gave them leniency they didn’t deserve. You must learn how to interact with police or you should not put yourself in a position to interact with them at all. Like maybe don’t break the law.

If people watch any of the cop shows on tv or on the internet (chiefly YT) you'll notice numerous times black drivers refuse to obey simple commands from officers. Many times these stops lead to tragic results or the driver getting roughly arrested over minor traffic violations.
Just do what the cops say. You can ask why you're being stopped, but then do what you're told.
It's far more likely that a traffic cop will be shot and killed by a black driver than vice versa contrary to what the public is led to believe. No sympathy for Hill.

I worked in Houston in the early 1990's, and it was universally understood that when dealing with HPD that you:

1. Lower the window
2 Keep your hands of the steering wheel
3. Be quiet until, something is asked.
4. Slow motion in getting paperwork

Even then, big city cops tend to rightfully be paranoid on traffic stops. Don't give them a reason to become agressive.

The big thing I noticed is that Hill remained on the phone talking to someone, presumably who would help him in this situation, and so did not pay attention to officers's commands.

To ignore the authorities virtually guarantees things will escalate.

Sorry, but why do some black males feel privileged to not do as the rest of us have to do ? I am always polite and do as requested... I once had a police officer follow me for 15 blocks or so, while I did turns I knew would NOT be chosen by the police officer if just patrolling. So I pulled into a parking lot and asked him why I was being followed. He said they were looking for a truck fitting my description, and after looking me up and down, let me go on my merry way.

That seems to be something now in many traffic stops of not only black motorists but white ones as well. Especially white females.
I'm not a cop and have never been one, but if I'm issuing commands/instructions to a driver and the first thing they do is to ignore my commands and start yapping on their cell phone, I'd be mighty irritated.
