English celebrities know they earned their chops through skill and personality and performance. Virtually any show I have seen, they can act their parts well. American ones seem far more interchangeable, with a few exceptions. There are only a few actors/performers in America I could name from today who will matter in another decade. The really iconic actors are mostly from decades ago.
