Hunter pleads “Guilty”

Jury selection will begin in Hunter Biden’s tax trial months after his gun conviction

5 Sep 2024

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jury selection is set to begin Thursday in Hunter Biden’s federal tax trial just months after the president’s son was convicted of gun charges in a separate case.

The case in Los Angeles federal court accuses Hunter Biden of a four-year scheme to avoid paying at least $1.4 million in taxes while pulling in millions of dollars from foreign business entities. He is already facing potential prison time after a Delaware jury convicted him in June of lying on a 2018 federal form to purchase a gun that he possessed for 11 days.

Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to the charges related to his 2016 through 2019 taxes and his attorneys have indicated they will argue he didn’t act “willfully,” or with the intention to break the law, in part because of his well-documented struggles with alcohol and drug addiction.

U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi, who was appointed to the bench by former President Donald Trump, placed some restrictions on what jurors will be allowed to hear about the traumatic events that Hunter Biden’s family, friends and attorneys say led to his drug addiction.

Hunter Biden is looking at possibly 17 years for tax evasion. Joe Biden is not going to allow his son to spend one second behind bars.

Shucks, I was looking forward to what the legal discovery process revealed.

I understand the Prosecutor does not agree with this "plea deal."

Hunter Biden will spend the same amount of time in prison as did Watergate instigator John Dean.

Did Dean piss off the Prosecutor and Judge like Hunter?  Only a Pardon or Clemency from Pops will do.

Jonathan Turley says Hunter Biden 'lost his game of chicken' with guilty plea in tax case
'He really has succeeded in putting himself in the worst possible position,' Turley tells 'Outnumbered'
By Fox News Staff Fox News
3 min read| Published September 5, 2024 2:30pm EDT

Constitutional law expert Jonathan Turley joined "Outnumbered" on Thursday to discuss Hunter Biden planning to change his plea to guilty on federal tax charges brought against him by Special Counsel David Weiss. Turley said President Biden's son is now likely to face jail time.

JONATHAN TURLEY: Well, it's not uncommon to see plea deals occur before trials. But in this case, many of us have been writing for months that Hunter Biden was perfectly insane not to plead guilty. Timing is important. You can get a better deal if you plead early rather than late. It's sort of like waiting for the water to reach the deck on the Titanic before you ask about swimming lessons. I mean, it's a little bit late for some of those options. And so he really has succeeded in putting himself in the worst possible position. In terms of a plea, this is the penalty for a lawyer standing in federal court and telling prosecutors, 'just rip it up.'

And that's what happened when the judge raised concerns about this sweetheart deal. And prosecutors admitted they'd never seen a deal like this being offered to a defendant. And the defense basically sort of tipped the table over and said, 'well, we're not going to cooperate.' The Department of Justice later said that they still wanted to get a plea with Hunter, but they blamed the defense for its position. So there's a lack of intelligent design here. I mean, in some ways, you could say, well, this is just a game of chicken, but if it is, they lost. By pleading guilty on the eve of the trial, you don't have much to trade away.

Hunter Biden’s sentencing has been scheduled for 12/16

Want to know why he pled guilty to all 9 felony charges?

Because if he went to trial and got convicted on even 1 charge, it would have delayed his sentencing date possibly into Trump’s term

No pardon from Trump

Now he is guaranteed to be sentenced before Joe is out and can get a clean pardon from daddy
