Pro-lifers who withold their votes from Trump will learn the hard way how badly that will backfire

One of the more disappointing things about American politics is how much time is often spent debating policies that have no actual chance of ever being enacted in this country.

Such is the case with the recently “proposed” federal abortion ban that has apparently sent a large number of pro-life Republicans into a tizzy after Donald Trump and J.D. Vance have said they would not sign such a bill were it to be put on the desk of the president, and has them claiming they will not vote for the GOP ticket as a result.

Let's, however, look at this from a realistic angle.

In order for any bill limiting abortion to pass through Congress, whether it be a total ban or something along the lines of a requirement that only people over the age of 18 years old would be eligible to get an abortion, it would require 60 votes in the Senate to survive a filibuster.

Remember that video proving that PP was selling baby body parts that got seized and suppressed? Guess what state DA engineered that suppression on behalf of PP.

When I voted for Trump in 2016, I had no illusion/expectation that Trump was Pro-Life. Yet the judges he appointed overturned Roe, returning the matter to the states. HilLIARy and Kammie would ram full-term abortion down the US' throat, if they could. Even were I a single-issue-focused voter I could still vote for Trump.

And add to that his big government IVF plan that either the government will pay or he’s gonna force insurance companies to pay. Which, will raise healthcare premiums and costs

So he’s throwing social conservatives under the bus. At least they’ll get to join us fiscal and economic conservatives. So which other parts of the Republican base has he yet to alienate?

They should not demand any federal legislation.  Trump is a New Yorker through and through --- licentious, pro-abortion (including late term) and likely has paid for abortions.  This would still be tolerable, were he able to bite his tongue on various state laws.  He has utterly failed to meet this low bar.

He always did with win-at-all-costs voters , and even just the other day proved it once again.
