Harris campaign launches ad blitz tying Trump to Project 2025

The Harris campaign is launching an ad blitz tying former President Trump to Project 2025, the conservative vision to radically expand the power of the government.
Why it matters: It's the latest sign that Harris, like President Biden before her, is trying to aggressively link Trump to the conservative plan for governing as she seeks to paint the former president as a threat.
While Democrats aggressively seize on the platform, Trump has tried to distance himself from it. Project 2025 is not an official campaign platform but was created by several of his top allies.
Driving the news: The first ad of the blitz, called "Control," features a narrator saying, "Donald Trump's back. And he's out for control." It also includes footage of Trump saying that he would have every right to go after" his political opponents.
The first ad will run in TV and digital across battleground states and the Palm-Beach-Fort Pierce, Florida market, the Harris campaign announced Wednesday.
The paid media campaign is part of an ad push ahead of the presidential debate between Harris and Trump scheduled for Sept. 10.
