Exclusive — Ted Cruz: Two-Point Contest in Texas Senate Race, Democrats Dumping Millions into It

Hannah Knudsen 28 Aug 2024

Democrats are dumping millions of dollars into Rep. Colin Allred’s (D-TX) U.S. senatorial campaign to defeat Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), the senator said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily, identifying complacency as his greatest hurdle moving forward to keep Texas red.

“We’ve got a battle going on right now,” Cruz began, noting that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) “has been explicit” in naming Cruz as his number one target in the country in the 2024 election cycle for the U.S. Senate.

“And, as we sit here today, Schumer and George Soros are spending over $100 million trying to beat me in this Senate race. … We are less than 70 days out from the election. Right now, they are flooding the state with cash,” the senator said.

On top of that, he continued, this is a tight race.

“And, I’ll tell you, Mike, there have been two polls in the last week that show this as a two-point race. It is a real battle. And Schumer and the radical left, they know if they ever flip Texas that they take the whole country with it,” he warned, noting that his opponent, Allred, “voted with Nancy Pelosi 100 percent of the time” during his first four years in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“He literally did not deviate on a single vote,” he said.

Cruz also pointed to other challenges in keeping Texas red, explaining how some demographic shifts are occurring.

Cruz is right; demographics are changing and Soros & Chuckie would like nothing more than to turn TX blue. If TX turns blue so goes the rest of the country.

Cruz & TX are in for a real battle.  He is the only politician that I have donated to this year.  I truly hope he is able to keep his seat.

I know those in TX don't feel he's in any danger of losing his seat, but things aren't looking all that spectacular.

Tell you what, Texas. I’ll exchange both of my worthless Senators for your one Ted Cruz.
I don’t understand why his races are always so close.

Look at the battle Abbot is having with ILLEGALS.  How many of them will vote?  Soros is backing this push along with Schumer.  I think it is highly doubtful that things are on the up and up.

You'd be surprised how many MAGA-ites here are still calling Cruz "Lyin' Ted" at the behest of the Orange Menace.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

There's that issue as well unfortunately.

Very true. And from what I am reading the state is being flooded with out of state money just like it was when Beto ran. The thing that worries me is that Allred isn't the kook that Beto was. From what I see in his ads, he comes across as very likeable and reasonable. I haven't seen a lot of opposition. Maybe Ted is waiting until closer to the election.

Conservatives need to learn to not fear demographic changes but embrace and engage otherwise Kamala Harris will be a shoe in for a second term, regardless of what happens to country under her watch. The changing demographics  are here to stay.

Your very conservative Governor won the “blue” Miami Dade area in 2022. It can be done

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Soros $$ vs. Ted $$; my hunch is Soros has a lot more $$ and that's who is helping Allred. Ted is being outspent would be my guess.

Texas may "hold the line" this time around.
With Mr. Cruz, and otherwise.

But that "line" isn't going to be held forever.
It's demographics. Texas "is changing".
And with changing demographics, it's just a matter of time.

I've posted this graphic before.

I've posted stats on the changing demographics of TX several times. At the current rate, I agree it's just a matter of time before TX goes blue. It wouldn't surprise me, if Ted loses his seat this time around or at least the race will wind up contested and it's anyone's guess how that would end.  He's one politician that I've always backed, but the demographics won't change unless they start massive deportation and I don't see that happening.
