Just goes to show Democrats will kill babies to keep power.
I pray it does not work.
But for some, this has been the overweenig issue.
Not the economy, Not the border, Not inflation, Not energy (although parts of Montana just across that imaginary line between it and North Dakota get just as cold as it gets here), Not the control of Natural Resources in the State (Montana has Oil and Gas, and an abundant supply of coal, and other tremendous mineral wealth).
Montana currently has abortion until fetal viability (generally 24 weeks). Medicaid covers it. Parental notice is required for minors.
It's already far more liberal there than in North Dakota where abortion is generally banned with very limited exceptions for rape, incest, and the physical health of the mother. Required 24 hour wait after counseling before the procedure, neither State medicaid nor private insurance are allowed to cover abortions except in very limited circumstances, medication abortions must be provided in person (not telehealth or such), parental consent is required for minors, and a licensed physician is required to do the procedure. That's considered one of the most restrictive, and Montana's law is already very loose by comparison, and any changes to that will come from within Montana.
SOTUS has spoken on Federal laws concerning abortion and put the choice at the State level.
Congress can try to usurp that power to impose lesser restrictions on wholesale murder and marketing baby parts, but, as constituted, I do not see SCOTUS upholding the law. (Getting cert. over 'standing' might be tougher, because 'successful procedures' result in the death of the baby, and few survive to bring suit over how it affected them.
