I don't know if their numbers would make a difference -- do they have that much of a following??

They are at 4.5% on average.  Most of his supporters are double haters, but a large chunk went back to the democrats after Biden dropped out.  What remains is probably hurting Trump.  If the polling is reliable in swing states, and things truly stand on a knife edge, then an endorsement may well determine the outcome.

If you think about it RFK Jr could serve in the perfect spot in a Trump administration. As head of the CIA.

His VP, Shanahan, is CIA connected and also bankrolling his Presidential aspirations @bigheadfred
IMHO, RFK Jr is scared $hitless of the CIA/Deep State as they all are, for good reason.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

We'll soon find out in the coming days if RFK Jr., does indeed endorse Trump.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to Speak Friday About ‘Path Forward’

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will speak Friday about “his path forward” in the 2024 race, his campaign announced Wednesday.

Following reports of financial woes, rumors swirled Wednesday morning about Kennedy dropping out of the race.

If Kennedy does drop out of the race, political pundits wonder if he will endorse a partisan candidate, such as former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris.

Earlier in August, a report indicated Kennedy would endorse Harris, but Kennedy immediately released a statement denying the report.

Kennedy will speak at 2:oo p.m. Eastern time on Friday in Phoenix, Arizona, the same city in which Trump is reportedly scheduled to be.

In the weeks since President Joe Biden stepped aside, Kennedy’s polling numbers declined, along with his financial backing.

RFK Jr. to drop out and endorse Trump. Right in the middle of the DNC.

This is the part where Kennedy will now be ironically called a traitor to his party and a chilling threat to democracy in Chicago by the usual suspects.

What a time to be in this business...

So this breaks a long losing streak for the Trump campaign.  Harris also gifted him a set of talking points from her wackadoodle economic plan.  Over the next few weeks, he has to raise awareness so she is forced to defend herself at the debate.

I am betting Shanahan's comments were a giant head fake to get the Democrats to cough up a little more in exchange for RFKjr's endorsement of Kamala. Kennedy has a bit of libertarianism in him, but he is fundamentally progressive. I don't see him swinging that far to the right.
