RFK Jr. campaign ‘looking at’ joining forces with Trump, running mate Shanahan says

The independent presidential campaign of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is considering abandoning his quest for the White House to “join forces” with Republican nominee Donald Trump, Kennedy’s running mate Nicole Shanahan says in a new interview posted online Tuesday.

Shanahan said the campaign is also considering remaining in the contest to try to win more than 5% of the popular vote and “establish ourselves” as a third-party alternative to the Republican and Democratic parties, and build on that ballot access for the 2028 election.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw somehow more votes from Trump,” Shanahan said in the interview on the “Impact Theory” podcast.

“Or we walk away right now and join forces with ... Donald Trump and you know, we walk away from that and explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” Shanahan told interviewer Tom Bilyeu..................

Wow.  Personally, I would not take issue with RFKjr as HHS Secretary,  This could be a complete game-changer.

Well @roamer_1 it's not like we have anyone to the right of center to vote for.  That is reality.  Unfortunately, we are on a sinking ship and she's taking on water very rapidly.

Politics ..... I think with Kamel gaining momentum RFK realizes he's going to be taking votes away from Trump and he'd rather have Trump in the oval office then anyone on the DEM ticket.  He's offering an olive branch? There are several possibilities.  Perhaps with Trump's trial coming up there's the possibility that he'll be doing some time, so again, RFK extending the olive branch.  Maybe RFK is seeing the writing on the wall and knows that the inevitable is happening and he's seeing a very real possibility of our country falling and trying to help. That's just my hunch. 

I don't see RFK Jr. as necessarily a bad person or anti-American; his policies are just a tad lopsided.

To me it would depend on what Kennedy wants.  Harris probably would find a worse HHS secretary.  If RFK demands the next admin to implement the green new deal, then decline the offer.
