This is part of the reason I don't understand those who claim that Trump can only lose if Democrats cheat.  Between that 47% and elitist progressives, they're well over 50%.

Not every net recipient is going to vote Democrat, but that's still a huge "base".

GOTV means everything.  If only half of those 47% show up to the polls, it's winnable for Trump.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Collapse is a strong word.  Will the USA dissolve?  More likely it will continue its slow decline into mediocrity.  Provided her party wins a working majority in congress, Kamala Harris will bring about institutional changes that give the left a permanent majority:  Additional states, expanded Supreme Court, amnesty, etc.  Without congress, she will continue the assault on economic freedom, stack the courts with progressives, and weaken our standing abroad.  The second option is reversible if the rightist factions grow up and and put forth viable candidates for office.

I think you are right. Most people can tell you who won The Bachelor but can't tell you who their senator is.

It will be slow and incremental. And most people will not understand the impact of these things...if they even know about them.

As far as viable candidates? Why would any statesman want to run in this climate?

That institutional change came long ago... Booshes 'too big to fail' proves that to be true.
It doesn't matter who is in charge of Washington DC.
Washington DC votes to preserve and enrich itself.

Yes I understand that .... but she could do so by an executive order.

I think a lot of people have a flawed understanding of exactly what an executive order is, and what you can do with one. Suffice it to say that an executive order that purports to grant amnesty to all those illegals would be shot down in a heartbeat by the courts.

Or to put it differently, if they thought they could do it simply via executive order, they would have done it many years ago.

"House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) dropped a subtle hint that Democrats may not certify the November election if former President Donald Trump is elected to office a second time."

Jeffries won't last long if he leads such a coup.
