Vice President Kamala Harris has taken a lead over former President Donald Trump in most recent presidential polls, but a new survey shows that Democrats are dealing with several of the same issues they were when President Joe Biden was the presumed nominee.

An ABC News-Washington Post-Ipsos poll released on Sunday shows Harris leading Trump among registered voters 49%-45%, but it also shows Harris trailing Trump on trust with pivotal topics such as the economy and immigration.

Trump holds a 9% lead over Harris in handling the economy, 46%-37%, while with immigration, Trump holds a 10% advantage over Harris, 46%-36%. Both margins are similar to when Biden was the presumptive nominee in July, according to the pollster.

Harris does have an edge over Trump on healthcare, gun violence, and abortion, all areas Biden also had an advantage over Trump in the July poll.

Two areas that Harris has recently focused on still show Trump with an edge: inflation and crime. Harris has leaned into her time as San Francisco district attorney and California attorney general to convey a tough on crime attitude, but she trails Trump on the matter by 3%.

The vice president also trails Trump on inflation by 9%, as Harris tries to tout her plan to combat rising prices by aiming to outlaw so-called price gauging. The plan outlined by Harris last week has received significant pushback, with some comparing the proposal to price controls.

Doesn’t matter what the issues are now.  Americans’ newfound love for the dems is all emotional.  All concerns with the border, economy, crime, etc are out the window.

So stock up on everything you can buy, because after Harris comes to power, there will be severe scarcity across the board.
