Trump on the Campaign Trail Today - Can He Stick to His Economic Message?
Joe Cunningham
5–7 minutes

Donald Trump has been a little off his game (understandably so) since a lunatic attempted to take his life a month ago. His messaging hasn't been consistent, with some talk about the issues but a lot of talk about people he has grudges with - including Republican Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia and podcast host Joe Rogan.

In that same stretch of time, Kamala Harris has enjoyed a popularity surge as her polling has bumped up to the point where the RealClearPolitics polling average has her just ahead of the former president, 47.8 to 46.7.

Harris is seeing a honeymoon phase in the media, coupled with a return of a lot of polled Democrats to the Democratic ticket - they were previously saying "other" or "Robert Kennedy" instead of Biden in protest to the current president remaining on the ticket, as well as his support of Israel. But now, we're just a few months away from election day, and both campaigns are fine-tuning their message.

Or, at least they should be.

Joe Cunningham's premise:
"Trump on the Campaign Trail Today - Can He Stick to His Economic Message?"

Fishrrman's prediction:
If Mr. Trump "sticks" only to his "economic message", he'll lose.

James Carville may have been correct 'way back in 1992 when he said, "it's the economy, stupid!"

But that won't do it anymore.
There are other forces that drive the election and shape the masses today.

The candidate that can ride that wave -- successfully -- is the one who is likely to win.

And even that prediction may be upset by the strength of The Party's underground and above-ground election apparatus. The "hide-in-plain-sight" election "reforms" passed in the past several years are specifically intended and designed to be components OF that "above-ground" apparatus.
(and many of the members of this forum can't even see them, though they're looking right AT them...)

THAT WAS AN EXCELLENT TRUMP SPEECH

That was an outstanding Trump speech on the economy and beyond.  He defined Harris-Biden, he spelled out what they've done to our country, and he set forth a pro-growth agenda, and made clear that government is not the answer, but their fear-mongering about him (Trump) blowing up Social Security and Medicare is preposterous -- as he was president 4-years and protected them.  Trump made clear, and this is important, that Harris has been vice president and is still vice president, so why does she say what she will do if elected rather than just do it now?  Great point. And "she cannot solve the problem because she is the problem." Trump also underscored that Americans were better off when he was president than now, when Harris is vice president.

Trump had energy, he's in fighting mode, and he was on target.
