Farmers' Almanac Forecasts This Winter's US Weather: 'Red Flagging'

The Farmers' Almanac, a long-standing annual publication that provides weather forecasts, has predicted a wet and long winter for the United States.

The almanac, published since 1918, released its 2024-2025 winter forecast, which said that the season in the U.S. will officially begin on December 21 and see frequent "rapid fire storms" bringing rain and snow with minimal breaks between them.
 
The coldest part of the season is the last week of January into the beginning of February when temperatures plunge nationwide.
 

The almanac said it is "red flagging" the final week of January as a very active storm track is forecast over most of the eastern half of the country.
