Comrade Hoodat -- you have just had an excellent lesson in how The Party's underground and above-ground apparatus WORKS.

What do you think you're really going to change this time around...?

A better question:  Why are you expecting a different result, knowing that nothing has changed?
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

His internal polling must suck

He’s psychologically falling apart. This, along with his fantasy of Biden re entering the race, has discombobulated him. This is an evidence free rant

No. It is not unconstitutional for a party to replace its nominee.
"It is not unconstitutional for a party to replace its nominee."

This is what had me laughing at the big shots in the GOP. They appeared shocked and worried that the Dem voters were disenfranchised.  THE GREAT MAJORITY OF THEM WERE HAPPY TO SEE JOE GO!!!
You are correct. The Dem Party is a private institution. Both parties used to select their candidates at their conventions. The Dems have not even had their convention yet.
But as they are a private party, they can do anything they want. What they did appears to have made most of their members extremely happy.  The GOP has to stop lamenting the "disenfranchisement" of Dem voters and get an acceptable attack plan for Harris and Walz that does not include wondering if Biden will make a comeback and also does not include name-calling as the main mode of attack.

That’s why I chuckle at these claims that people only go to her rallies for concerts or that the attendance at her rallies  are AI generated. Or that Democrats were somehow robbed of their choice and they should be outrage

They are ecstatic and relieved. It’s Donald Trump that’s outraged by the switch. He and his  base of supporters are living in a cocoon of denial

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Kamala is popular because she's a whipper-snapper with vigor and moxy.

Trump is the crazy, racist, ill-behaved uncle whom you never invite to family Christmas because he as nothing nice to say about anybody.

Biden is ready for assisted living.

I'm not.
Georgia is becoming a blue state now.
Or more correctly, "going back to like it used to be in times past".

It's like New Hampshire, internally the local state GOP will do quite well, but it will vote blue in all federal elections. I don't understand it either...

Like I said Team Trump had the rug pulled from underneath them. Why they didn't see the possibility of Biden not running is beyond me. I was predicting Biden wouldn't be the Dem candidate in 2024 shortly after his inauguration.
They sound like my pitiful co-workers and friends who always blamed the refs whenever their team lost.

Plus, she's basically an unknown quantity for many average Americans who aren't political fanatics like the people on this board. Many Americans can't name the incumbent vice-president.
So, at the moment she benefits from being sort of a novelty candidate as the majority of Democrats were ecstatic to not have Biden running in November.
And she benefits from being relatively younger than Trump who is nearing 80.

This post could’ve been typed in Aug 2008. Replace the name Harris with Obama and the name Trump with McCain

I remember back in 2008 when a lot of folks from TOS crossed over to vote for Obama in the Dem primary just to keep Hillary from winning the Dem nomination.  Pure brilliance.
