You'd think.

But the left loves him. He's midwestern, as left-wing as a white midwestern guy gets, and not Jewish (ahem, Shapiro). Like Trump did with Vance, Harris picked Walz as a nod to her antisemitic, liberal base.

Remember, all those gains that Kamala supposedly made in the polls were not centrists deciding Kamala was more palatable than Biden; it was the liberals who were going to sit this election out because Biden wasn't liberal ENOUGH for them. Walz is a reassuring figure to that group.

The jewish vote has polled close to 50/50 in New York recently.  I have to wonder if this is the year the monopoly on the jewish vote is broken.  If so, this pick could backfire on the dems in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, and assorted swing districts.

Well worth watching this.

I almost fell out of my chair -- which would have been dangerous because it is very high off he ground -- when I heard Jessica Tarlov say Walz has Midwestern values. Color this Midwesterner dubious as to that ludicrous assertion. Come on Jessica.

That in part is why Harris feels no need to campaign, make herself visible,

This is why Trump is going to lose. She is definitely out campaigning.. In fact, she’s out campaigning harder than Trump

I could tell that Donald Trump’s campaign was struggling for some kind of message when we had that correction the other day in the stock market and he tried to pin it on Kamala Harris, and claim that we were entering a Great Depression when nothing points to that. When the market rallied, Trump was silent. Trump forgets he oversaw an almost 3000 point drop in the Dow

Yes, Harris is out of the mainstream of most of the country. But who thought a left wing community organizer who attended a church were the pastor was sympathetic to the 9/11 terrorist and was supported by the likes of Bill Ayres would win two terms?

Walz’s mishandling of the riots is absolutely fair game

But his opponent tried that in 2022 and still lost

Once again proving that, in general, a presidential candidate will always pick someone stupider than they are as a VP running mate - in Kameltoe's case, that took some looking.

I think we have a lot of work to do. Someone really has coached Kamala how to be REALLY GOOD on the stump with teleprompters. You can see her catching herself before she laughs out loud. Dismiss this ticket at your peril folks.

He’s right

She’s running a much different campaign than Hillary or Biden did, her base is more excited than they were in 2016 and 2020, she raising record amounts of cash, and the Democrats are united

On the GOP side, the nominee fights with GOP governors, all cap posting about a non existent Great Depression, and is going back to his 2016 playbook

On paper, Kamala’s political positions would put her in George McGovern territory, electorally speaking. But she, like many other Democrats that should’ve lost, has the good luck to run against the highly unpopular Donald Trump

Pray his performance doesn’t cost the GOP down ticket

That’s some bro love there.

She’s not getting anything from Tampon Tim.

Guarantee that Walz and his wife haven’t slept in the same bedroom for years.

Walz is so weird. Look at his facial expressions.

The DEM convention is just around the corner .... and then Trump's sentencing is coming up. All just a few months before the election and early voting will happen even sooner.

I am dreading what lies ahead.
I am not.

There is no way that the Dems will be able to control the crazies that will roam the streets of Chicago ala '68.

Well it's not really Harris running things and making decisions...it's the entire Democrat machine that suddenly flipped on and astroturfing support by buying rally-goers and social media influencers.  I think they've made the decision to spend most of that $250 million warchest upfront on ad buys and rallies to try and overwhelm Trump and Vance, and to convince the country she's got real grassroots support when there is none outside the far-Left.

And remember when everyone scratched their heads when he selected Biden as his VP choice...Obama won in spite of that.

Axelrod: Walz Didn’t Give Fully ‘Honest Rendering’ of Crime, We Have Issues With Quality of Life Crimes

Ian Hanchett7 Aug 202419
1:44

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama Adviser David Axelrod stated that 2024 Democratic vice presidential candidate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) didn’t give a completely “honest rendering” on crime during his first speech as 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate because while crime is down overall, “there are certain kinds of crimes that are not that go right to the quality of life in some of these urban communities.”

After viewing video of Walz saying that violent crime rose during the Trump administration and quipping that that doesn’t count Trump’s crimes, Axelrod said, “There’s danger a little bit in that. Obviously, the way he landed the punchline was very, very effective, just reminding people who Trump is. The truth is, crime is down and it’s down across the country. But there are certain kinds of crimes that are not that go right to the quality of life in some of these urban communities. And so, an honest rendering of this is to talk about that too, because — and I suspect that they will. Even though crime is down, there are certain property crimes and other kinds of crimes that are really vexing and people are concerned about it. There’s no reason to run away from that. The point — the difference between that they should point out between Trump and their approach is he views these problems as weapons to mobilize his base. He does not view these problems as something to be solved. And I think they have to engage on some of those things.”

Kamala Harris: Tim Walz, Who Dodged Iraq Duty, Is ‘Varsity’; JD Vance, Who Fought in Iraq, Is ‘JV Squad’

Democrat Presidential candidate Kamala Harris made an odd sporting comparison between her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and Donald Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), calling it a match between the “varsity team and the JV squad.”

Harris made the comparison during her announcement of Walz as her VP pick on Tuesday, and referred to his time as a high school football coach.

“When you compare Walz’s resume to Trump’s running mate, well, some might say it’s like a matchup between the varsity team and the JV squad!” she said before laughing.

Some people noted on social media that the comparison fell flat, due to the fact that JD Vance actually served during the Iraq War while Walz did not. Walz’s military record has also been called into question.

Why Kamala Chose the Most Horrible Candidate: Tim Walz as Her VP Vaccine
Posted on August 7, 2024
by Jeff Childers
Flopping Aces
Quote
Toadlike Minnesota governor Tim Walz emerged yesterday, moist and shiny, from Kamala Harris’s lower intestine, according to the New York Times, which ran a story headlined, “How Kamala Harris Trusted Her Gut and Picked Tim Walz.” She trusted her gut. Not her brain. I am not making this up, you will see I’m right, they are playing to the dreaded Karen Contingent,* older white women who hungrily snap up every grotesque proposal pushed out of the General Committee of the Democrat Party.

(* Apologies to real Karens. It’s actually one of my favorite girl names.) ...

In these modern times of mentally-ill inmates leading the asylum, the selection of a vice-presidential candidate has become an exercise in impeachment insurance. In 2016, Trump made the rookie mistake of picking VP Mike Pence, who the democrats would have loved to be President, at least compared to Donald Trump. Result: nonstop impeachment efforts.

VPs have become impeachment vaccines. Biden didn’t repeat Trump’s mistake. He selected the least-liked politician in America, a less-likable and less attractive Alexandria O’Casio-something. Nobody, and I mean nobody, wanted a Cackle-in-Chief, so —even though Republicans were spoiling for payback— President Cabbage was safely and effectively immunized from impeachment. ...

And that’s exactly what Kamala did: selected her impeachment vaccine. It wasn’t her feelings. What a preposterous idea! It was a stone-cold calculation. Kamala was so horrible that she was Biden’s impeachment insurance. So she wasn’t looking for the best candidate. She wanted the worst. Kamala had to pick someone really, truly horrible, even more distasteful to conservatives than herself, to become her own living impeachment vaccine.

Cue Minnesota Lockdown Governor Tim Walz, the man for the hour! ...
The abnormal is not the normal just because it is prevalent.

That all may be well and good, but doesn’t Trump have any responsibility in any of this?  He picks a vice presidential candidate from a red state who performed than any other Republican in the 2022 election, He fights with a popular swing state Republican governor, and somehow brings his wife into his little spat, he gets into spats with the Heritage Foundation, he recycles his old slogan from 2016, he   takes a market correction from and gleefully posts about how its Kamala’s crash and the Great Depression of 2024 yet is silent when it rallies again, and now he’s posting a new conspiracy theory that Joe Biden will crash the DNC convention and try to take back power.

Do you see Harris doing any of this?  It’s going to hurt a lot of feelings, but she is running a much stronger campaign than not only Donald Trump, but both Biden and Hillary as well. She’s not drawing in independent voters as of yet. But she is definitely solidifying and motivating and uniting her base. She’s not getting in spats with Democrat  governors and their spouses

Donald Trump is becoming his own undoing. He’s going back to his 2016 playbook but Kamala is not lazy like Hillary Clinton was

I read many of the posts here and then I read the posts in the Election 2022 part and all the same post are recycled.

Nikki Haley is probably going to end up being right when she warned that the first party to dump their geriatric candidate will win the White House

Someday the Republican party might get serious again and decide that it’s more important to win elections than maintain loyalty to Donald Trump and simply entertain just the base
