I am not convinced Kamala is the one who designated herself as 'Black'. The media started referring to her as "the first Black woman to ever ... XYZ", and Kamala just went with it. Her father was a slave owner. I doubt that her family embraced finding out she is a negro.
The strangest part is the media insistence that she is an "African American". Even if she gets away with claiming Black heritage, calling her African American is stretching the bounds of simple truth. Maybe, if we go back a dozen generations, someone in her father's extended lineage came from Africa. But again, it is stretching common sense.
Black Americans know this. They laugh every time she tries to speak with an American Black accent or says things like, "I'm out here on deez streets". Really? Which streets is you on? Kamala!
