Axelrod: Harris momentum leaning heavily on ‘irrational exuberance’

Top Democratic strategist David Axelrod says Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign is riding on the "irrational exuberance" of the Democratic Party following President Biden's withdrawal.

Axelrod made the statement in an interview with CNN Newsroom this weekend. Harris' campaign has surged out of the gate with record fundraising and cutting away at Trump's lead in polls.

"She has a lot of momentum, but if you do look at the polling, this is still a really tight race," he said. "This is going to be a hard fight for either side. It’s based on the numbers we’re seeing right now."

"Look, I mean, there’s a lot of irrational exuberance on the Democratic side of the aisle right now, because there was despair for some period of time about what November was gonna look like," he continued. "Now people feel like there’s a chance."

Axelrod nevertheless argued that Trump still holds an advantage over Harris despite close polling.

"It’s absolutely Trump’s race to lose right now. He is ahead," he said. "And he is ahead in most of the battleground states. They’re close, they can be won by either candidate...................

This is NOT 2008.  Gone are all those that ran around saying, it is time, it is time we have a black as POTUS.  GONE! GONE! GONE!

Yes, there is exuberance, for look where they were.  They selected a candidate[who I knew was senile in 2020] that was non functional.  The debate made that OVERTLY CLEAR to even the Democommie dummies.  And even then, it took them weeks to actually do something.  What they did was a page right out of the soviet operating manual.  While it may not end up being many, I believe a number of Democrats will feel disenfranchised, as they should, and not vote, or vote for Trump of RFK Jr.

I see Trump having maybe one vote with Harris.  If it goes as I anticipate, she will not dare want to get in the same room with Trump again.  She is not in his league on her best day.  And if he remains quiet, and lets her dig a deep hole with her gobblygook nonsense speak, he might skate to win the election, if they decide not to fix it.

David Axelrod isn’t feeling the juice surrounding Kamala Harris. Whether you like him or not, Axelrod knows how to win elections and can pick those who have what it takes. The former Obama adviser is warning Democrats not to get too excited: it’s still Trump’s election to lose, and the enthusiasm is likely artificial. I believe the exact term he used was “irrational exuberance” (via The Hill):
 
Harris’s campaign has come out to a quick start, breaking fundraising records and significantly cutting into former President Trump’s previous lead in polls since she replaced President Biden at the top of the ticket.

Trump has a good track record with that community.
