A woman arrested for allegedly leaving her newborn baby in a dumpster is living in the United States unlawfully, federal immigration authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

The Houston Police Department charged Everilda Cux Ajtzalam with child abandonment after she allegedly left her baby in a dumpster in southwest Houston earlier this month, according to ABC13, a Houston-based outlet. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that Ajtzalam is an illegal migrant who entered the U.S. as an unaccompanied minor.

“On July 26, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Houston lodged an immigration detainer with the Harris County (Texas) Jail on Everilda Cux Ajtalam, an 18-year-old Guatemalan national who illegally entered the U.S. as an unaccompanied minor, following her arrest for abandoning a child without intent to return,” an agency spokesperson stated to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

I'm definitely not happy about illegals, nor the thought of a mother abandoning her child--apparently without remorse, but to give birth, get up and go dump the kid, and go back and clean the truck...that moved the needle on my toughness meter. I don't know her personal situation (aside from being here illegally), or how she 'justified' throwing her kid away (maybe the result of rape and she took that out on the kid), but just damn.

Hey cut her some slack, abortion is probably against her religion, but nobody said  nuthin about dumping a newborn in the  trash  **nononono*

I did cut her some slack.
She gave birth, then 'packaged' the results, and went back and cleaned up the truck.

How many women do you know who could do that?

I definitely do not agree with what she did with the baby--likely doesn't know how to give one up for adoption, even anonymously (although she sorta did), but there is a degree of toughness there for someone who was likely a minor when she got pregnant that blows the doors off the average 17-18 year old in America.

I agree. There had to be an emotional aspect to this. Or a total lack of conscience.
