I hold no brief for the frequently irritating or biased alphabet news networks, but I'm wondering if a lot of their problems stem from the fact that a very large percentage of generation Z is totally uninterested in current events. That goes for a lot of millennials as well.
When my daughters, sons-in-law, and grandkids come to visit, they spend most of their time looking at their cell-phones, texting friends, or playing games. None of them read non-fiction books or seem interested in the world outside their bubble.
So, it's good and it's bad about news orgs losing viewers/listeners. I'm not crying about the alphabet news networks (that I don't watch anymore) losing their audience.
I am worried that an uninterested young generations are bereft of the information they'll need to keep America the greatest country in the world.
