As Vice President Kamala Harris embarks on her second week on the campaign trail, she is set to visit a battleground state President Joe Biden may have lost in his campaign: Georgia.

According to a Hill/Emerson College poll, Harris is polling just 2 points below former President Donald Trump, with Harris gaining 46% to Trump’s 48%. In 2020, Biden narrowly flipped the state blue by a little more than 11,000 votes and marked the first time Georgia voted for a Democrat for president since 1992.

“I have not seen this much excitement amongst the Democratic base and Democratic coalition since Barack Obama,” Tharon Johnson, an Atlanta-based political strategist who has worked for Democratic candidates in the state, told the Wall Street Journal. “This is the most excitement we’ve felt in Georgia over the last decade.”

Harris is set to campaign in Atlanta on Tuesday, where she will be accompanied by Sens. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and two-time Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. There will also be a performance from rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

The news comes as the Harris campaign announced it broke records and raised more than $200 million in the first week of the campaign.

Like it or not, Georgia is "turning".

Looking at a chart of the state's current demographics.

Whites in GA are down to just over 53%.
Blacks are at 32%.
Hispanics at 10.5%
Asians at a little over 5%.

That's "47%+ minority" -- i.e., NONWHITE votes.
And we know "which way most of them go".

Factor in the amount of liberal and dem-communist whites, and the possible margin of victory...
...well, it ain't so great any more.

I invite refutation from anyone in the forum who IS in Georgia.

But demographics are just numbers.
You can't argue much with the numbers...
They are what they are.

Poor Stacy Abrams.  Dems never give her credit for her grass roots efforts that made Georgia a purple state.  If only Abrams could raise as much money as Jamie Harrison, she'd be DNC Chair.

ATLANTA — When Vice President Harris headlines a rally Tuesday evening in battleground Georgia's capital and largest city, she'll stand in front of the largest crowd this cycle for the Democratic Party's national ticket.

Hours before the vice president arrived in Atlanta, the Georgia State Convocation Center, which has a listed capacity of 8,000 people for concerts, was filling up with supporters.

It's another sign of the energy and excitement that's returning to the party nine days after President Biden's blockbuster announcement that he was suspending his re-election campaign against former President Trump and endorsing his vice president.



Biden's immediate backing of Harris ignited a surge of endorsements for the vice president by Democrat governors, senators, House members and other party leaders and elders. Within 36 hours, Harris announced that she had locked up her party's nomination by landing the verbal backing of a majority of the nearly 4,000 convention delegates.

"Freedom is on the ballot this November. That is why I will be in Atlanta tonight with @theestallion to talk about the stakes of this election," the vice president wrote in a social media post on her way to Atlanta.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is expected to perform at the rally, which received nearly 20,000 RSPVs ahead of the event.

What are Republicans focused on? Defending cat lady comments, disowning Project 2025, and Willie Brown.
