WTH. The Olympic Games are supposed to be about athletic achievement. What do perverts and misfits have to do with it?

No problem, @jmyrlefuller - this version of the games is guaranteed to be unforgettable (though not necessarily in a good way).

My couple of previews indicate that this is going to me a massive woke-fest.   I might not watch a minute.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

In this scene from the Olympic opening ceremony, the famous painting of The Last Supper is recreated, but Jesus is replaced with an obese woman, while queer and trans figures (including a child!) depict her apostles.
Overt pagan and satanic symbolism.

What any of this has to do with the Olympic games or the Olympic creed - The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well. - is beyond me.

The entire USA delegation and team should pack up and GTFO of France immediately.

Well, I guess I must be having one senior moment after another because I didn't see any of this. Maybe there was a "pregame" that I missed or it was in the  background.

All in all, I thought France did a great job. I can't even imagine the amount of planning that went into it. And (at least on camera) not a hitch. If I had any complaint it would be the co-mingling of the athletes entrance with the production that usually follows. It's supposed to be about the athletes and it took away from them imo. Of course, had they done the regular way it would still be going on tomorrow, lol. But I enjoy watching the different countries come in solo.

Although the Celine Dion genre of music is not my favorite, she does have a killer voice. And was able to sing and overcome her illness for the moment. That is a victory.

In the summer Olympics I usually only watch the gymnastics and equestrian events (when I can see them). So I'll be out for the most part until the closing ceremonies.

Did anyone ever say who the person was that was carrying the torch over the rooftops (simulated or not)?

I will not watch a minute.  It is in France.  I do not care to benefit France in any way.  I think they are an ignorant people.  The whole notion of going out of their way not to have A/C, I thought that was idiotic.

The French are spineless and played a nothing role in the liberation of their country from the Germans.  De Gaulle was a clown.

Opening ceremony - faggapalooza!!

Absolutely disgraceful!

The Olympics are to showcase elite human physical specimens...not nauseating freaks who can't get out of a recliner.
...a HUGE recliner!!

Need to check the schedule to see when sports of any interest are on. Mr. M wants to watch the marathon at 2 a.m. in a week or two. 999yawn
