well. nope. I ain't got a walk. There's a chunk of concrete by the door, but all the rest is gravel. And yeah... if you don't count the gophers that have moved in, and don't pay no mind to the thistle patches, it's a chunk of pasture fenced off to hold cattle that I mow (now and then) ==lawn.
Whether you pave it or not, there's a path most folks take because it is a habit, it's the easiest, or even just the shortest route. People tend to not leave stuff there and put it off to the side, which leaves what is left: a path, a 'walk'. "Peaches" will get any gopher in reach, but she leaves these god-awful paw-wide trenches getting them (and they are deep!).
As lawns go, I tried growing grass in front, but ended up with one of the most impressive collections of noxious weeds shy of an agronomy lab. What Peaches doesn't destroy, I will run a mower over from time to time.
As for that little strip of well-aged concrete, (and there is one, it was here when I bought the place), it's the one trail Peaches doesn't leave those potentially leg-breaking slit trenches of hers, so, yeah, a walk.
