I'm surprised to be this far down the thread without anyone challenging the idea which holds the primary fault: Using the federal government to provide extra anything to families is the same damn thing as the Democrats using the federal government to aid homos and illegal aliens. It's all wrong. ALL of it.

Using the federal government is the problem.
What would actually be helpful is to remove the ability for the federal government to help anyone. Take away that abuility and you will see massive growth as the government shrinks.

That, in a nutshell is the entire problem with this populist MAGA movement. It is focused on using government just the same way the liberals do, rather than making government smaller and incapable of this kind of intrusion.

You realize that ultra fiscally driven conservatives like you and I make up at most 10% of the voting population.  I applaud you fighting on, but it now seems like a losing cause.   The Entitement class with their lips permanently sealed to the left hind teat of Fedzilla Hog have won.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Nah. The bill will come due... ALWAYS. This ain't winning. Paying the piper is winning. And the piper WILL be paid, one way or another... And he don't take credit cards.

We're talking about the content of the exact speech Vance gave that was the subject of the thread.

This site is dedicated to a small band of individuals who love politics but can't seem to stay on topic...

That's great. Perhaps you can manage to get this thread locked, too.

How is it not on topic for criticizing his comment s as being big government instead of small government, which one would expect from a so-called 'conservative'?

At this point it's obvious the media is just lying about JD Vance's comments

He specifically said AT THE EVENT that he wasn't talking about anyone who experienced infertility

And they cut that part out

Yes this is true

They’re lying because they’re afraid of him.

Bears repeating! So I did.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I really don't get this.  We're literally talking about the exact same speech he gave on the issue of marriage/children.   It's really his entire point and why he gave the speech.  He wants more "pro-family" legislation/spending, and believes it is being held up by crazy cat ladies who don't have kids.

Did you actually listen to the speech, or are you just going off selected excerpts?

So why wouldn't he have supported a conservative Republican against a Democrat just because they didn't say nice things about him?

Am I going to agree with every word that comes out of J. D. Vance's mouth? Absolutely not! But, on balance, I find him to be a REAL breath of fresh air! I hope that continues.

Vance: I explicitly said in my remarks, despite the fact the media has lied about this, that this is not about criticizing people who for various reasons didn't have kids. This is about criticizing the Democratic Party for becoming anti-family and anti-child.

And infertility is what Aniston is dealing with.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

That, and a sad inability to maintain a relationship with a man.

Well, there's that, too.
